I have a metal laundry tin that came with a scoop. No idea how much the scoop holds. I just put in a heaped scoop if it's a big load or particularly dirty or a not quite full scoop if it's not a big load! Seems to work.

I just tip it in until it looks like enough. I assumed the OP wanted accuracy.
