What trivial thing has made you hide a thread?

Stevienickssleeves · 17/05/2020 11:40

Pop...

Or it's grotesque extension, "just pop..."

In fact anyone giving advice that starts with the word "just" needs to sit the hell down

TomNook · 17/05/2020 11:41

Lol. Like me and pre-order.

OP posts:
DahliaDay · 17/05/2020 11:41

But you started another with the word you hate in the title??

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 17/05/2020 11:41

Hi girls!!!!

I don’t hide the thread but I certainly stop reading at that point!

ProseccoSupernova · 17/05/2020 11:48

If anyone talks about their ‘hubby’ I immediately have an intense dislike for the poster!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 17/05/2020 11:51

Yes @ProseccoSupernova

Or bubs bubba babs

Batshittery · 17/05/2020 11:54

Yes to 'hubs' 'bubs' or any of that crap. I just leave the thread.

mondaypolomint · 17/05/2020 11:57

Calls their child "Little man"

Forever home - but it's not literally forever.

Making memories

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 17/05/2020 11:59

Now I’ll have to hide this one too!

TheProvincialLady · 17/05/2020 12:01

‘Poop’

Makes me want to throw shit at the person.

AllNewThings · 17/05/2020 12:02

I'm hiding threads willy nilly at the moment.

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2020 12:02

‘Can you see a line?’
‘Hello ladies/Man here’

WhenItIsOver · 17/05/2020 12:08

Dear reader, or reader.
Sets my teeth on edge.

TomNook · 17/05/2020 12:08

Ha ha @DahliaDay I did!

A lot of those things like hi girls or kisses after a post are SIGNS

OP posts:
Stevienickssleeves · 17/05/2020 12:14

Yep definite red flag, like, hi ladies, hi fellow mums, or anyone who thinks we should all know thinks they are mumsnet famous posting "i'm here!!"

I also hate most of the AMA threads. There are very often a lot of people who know more about the topic.

TomNook · 17/05/2020 12:15

I did lol at the AMA “I’m a teacher”. Come on. The best ones of those was I’m a prostitute and I work at dominos. Lol

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2020 12:16

There have been a few really interesting AMAs but some of them I don’t see why they think anyone would have a question.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 17/05/2020 12:18

Ha ha! I read an AIBU earlier with the word panties in it and nearly replied they they were BU for using that word. Grin

differentnameforthis · 17/05/2020 12:19

So you hid a thread that had the word panties in it, yet you MADE a thread with the word panties in it? OK....

thesnoopdragon · 17/05/2020 12:24

I hid the recent one with "anal" in the title - even though that wasn't actually what the thread was about. Just hated seeing it popping up on the active threads.

DesmondTheMoonbear · 17/05/2020 12:30

When the OP of an AIBU thread tells people how to vote.

AIBU to punch my 80 year old MIL in the face and call her a worthless meddling old harridan?
YABU. I would never punch an elderly woman in the face.
YANBU. You should definitely punch her in the face. It's the least she deserves.

When did posting like this become so ubiquitous on Mumsnet? It really annoys me.

TomNook · 17/05/2020 12:31

yes. I made a thread to complain about the word

OP posts:
TomNook · 17/05/2020 12:32

@DesmondTheMoonbear I’ve seen that for ones where the questions not phrased well at the start I think ?
