I just love the Disney parks so while we're in lockdown I wanted to know anyone's fave rides, parks, food, attractions? And why?

My favourite is Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom. It's not the most exciting ride and is quite dated but it just brings back so many lovely memories of holidays with my family and I feel so happy and nostalgic every time I go in it. I also love the smell of the water Grin

Ride: tower of terror
Food: THE POPCORN!
Park: Disneyland Paris and Hollywood Studios in Florida
Parade: Princess va Pirates in DLP
Theme: DLP 25th anniversary and Christmas in FL
Why? Disneyland Paris is very special to me as we went just after the lowest point of my life so I’m recent years I prefer DLP to WDW.
Tower of terror is just a banger of a ride.
I’m practically made out of popcorn.

somuchdust · 16/05/2020 09:14

Thanks for the thread!! Just what I need for some escapism.

Overall I'd say Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom. Such fun! But also Test Track at Epcot. Smile

somuchdust · 16/05/2020 09:16

Hotel would be Grand Floridian at MK.

WeveGottaGetTherouxThis · 16/05/2020 09:16

Favourite restaurant: Coral Reef
Favourite hotel: yacht club

RoscoePColtrane · 16/05/2020 09:21

Soarin' at Epcot (I think). Just incredible. Cant comment on many others as am a total wuss and therefore the official coat holder.

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/05/2020 09:22

Rock n roller coaster Star

somuchdust · 16/05/2020 09:24

Ha ha @ coatholder. I love Soarin too!

TeenPlusTwenties · 16/05/2020 09:26

Thunder mountain.
Buzz Light Year.

Don't like big rides. Smile

HermioneWeasley · 16/05/2020 09:28

There are such amazing, high tech rides now like flights of passage, but I love the classics like thunder mountain

I’m working my way through Disney food recipes in lockdown.

ChestyNut · 16/05/2020 09:40

Hermione I wish I could bake because I’d make nom nom cookies all day long! I’d also be the size of MK castle Grin

I forgot...fave restaraunt.....1900 park fayre breakfast.

tanstaafl · 16/05/2020 09:42

We went couple of years ago -Epcot- made a beeline for Soarin’ at opening time as it was a favourite ride for us.

Without giving anything away , they’ve changed it from how it was originally. We left disappointed!

KimberWozRobbed · 16/05/2020 09:45

Peter Pans Flight is my favourite. It makes me cry. I don't know why.

heartsonacake · 16/05/2020 09:51

Favourite Park: Hollywood Studios for the rides, Magic Kingdom for the nostalgia
Favourite Ride: Either Tower of Terror or Everest
Favourite Restaurant: Rose & Crown in Epcot
Favourite Hotel: Grand Floridian

(Although my favourite ride in the entirety of Florida has to be Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure over at Universal - there’s nothing like it, it’s just so exhilarating!)

MummaGiles · 16/05/2020 09:52

As a kid going to Disney World in the 90s - Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Tours

As a parent taking DS (then 3, nearly 4) to DLP: Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear (can’t remember the exact name of the ride), the car stunt show and Thunder Mountain. And without DS, the Tower of Terror.

Figmentofimagination · 16/05/2020 09:54

I love Disney. I've been so many times to Florida when I was younger, took my toddler for the first time last year and I'm wanting to plan my next trip.

All my favourites are from WDW in Florida as I've not been to other parks.

Park - Magic Kingdom
Ride - Haunted Mansion
Show - Celebrate the Magic projection show at MK. I wasn't happy when the stopped it a few years ago
Food - Mickey Ice Cream or beignets
Hotel - Port Orleans French Quarter
Restaurant - Ohana's at the Polynesian

Buzzfrightyears · 16/05/2020 09:55

Peter Pan’s Flight, it’s a bit dated but reduces me to tears. There’s something so nostalgic about it. I’m meant to be going August this year Sad

TippledPink · 16/05/2020 09:56

Oh I LOVE funnel cakes!!

Nquartz · 16/05/2020 09:57

Favourite ride splash mountain, mainly because DD's face is always funny on the photos.

Favourite park magic kingdom or the water parks.

Love Mickey pretzels & the breadsticks from one of the food places opposite the beauty & the beast theatre at HS.

Can't wait to go back in March after a 2.5 years break

VisionQuest · 16/05/2020 10:00

Favourite ride is Avatar by a mile. However, Animal Kingdom was probably my least favourite park as it was so overcrowded and HOT, my god the heat was something else.

Love Epcot as it's the least crowded park and low wait times for rides.

Also had many happy days at Blizzard Beach. Wasn't impressed with Typhoon Lagoon as it didn't have the sprinklers on the walkways which were burning hot!

Newcatmum · 16/05/2020 10:16

Soarin. I love Florida so much went with my family when I was 13 & 19. Would love to be able to take my children but it's something I will never affordSad

EthelMayFergus · 16/05/2020 10:22

The new Avatar ride - Flight of Passage, in Animal Kingdom. We went to Orlando at the end of last year, it's a new ride and it's just fantastic. I love Disney, we go at least every couple of years.
