I just love the Disney parks so while we're in lockdown I wanted to know anyone's fave rides, parks, food, attractions? And why?

Park - Magic Kingdom
Rides - Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain
Food - Ohana (Polynesian resort) for dinner
Attractions - Magic Kingdom fireworks

So many favourites!
Magic kingdom - thunder mountain
Animal kingdom - expedition Everest
Epcot- test track
Hollywood studios - rock n roller coaster

We love hotdogs from caseys at magic kingdom, but last year we visited disney California and worked our way through their Halloween snack list, macarons galore 😍 loved it!

Up until Flight of Passage, my favourite was Soarin. I wouldn't be able to do the massive roller coasters.

Favourite park - Magic Kingdom because it just is totally bloody magic. 15 trips and I still cry every time I see the castle

Favourite rides - flight of passage, Tower of Terror, expedition Everest and big thunder mountain. However my best Florida ride overall is Hagrids Motorcycle Adventure at Universal. It is just phenomenal.

Favourite snack - pineapple upside down cake dole whip or a mickey pretzel with cheese dip

Favourite restaurant - Crystal Palace

Favourite show - Happily Ever After

We got just about every year and we miss it terribly. It feels so strange to think of it all being closed.

Big Disney fans here.
Our summer plans had been to visit the last two - Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Not sure which my favourite park is as they all have nice memories for me. I think DLP is my least favourite park as it didn't feel like the same atmosphere/vibe though it is the closest so easiest to get to, etc. Maybe it's the weather which doesn't help as we like hot!

Teen Dd is currently trying to persuade us that as our Oman's have been changed - and she may not have same holidays as us going forward as she's due to start university this year - that we should just got to wdw for 10 days at Christmas instead 😂

We love Epcot for a quieter day. Dh and I like to wander round the world showcase tasting the different drinks Grin It was particularly good when it was the food and wine festival there.

I love magic kingdom for the atmosphere and just to look around. Dh likes the buffet at Crystal Palace there. 18y dd is like a big kid when we go, she reverts back to that little girl in the princess dress she once was. Two or three years back we went for dinner at the beasts castle - dd was always a massive BATB fab growing up and adored the beast as a little girl. She had a yellow sun dress on and even bought the matching ears 🤣 but her day was made when the beast asked her to dance!

About three years ago we took DD's friend with us and it was fab to see it all new through her eyes.

We're not Star Wars fans but I'm still excited about seeing the new land there and seeing what it looks like up close.

We love coasters and whilst the biggest ones aren't at Disney we still love the ones there - Space Mountain, Everest, Mine Train are all fab fun.

Once Ocado delivers this afternoon dd is planning to make a version of Disney's pineapple dole whip.

Aragog It’s incredible - you’ll love it! I’m not a Star Wars fan either but it was so immersive it was like you were really on one of their planets! No spoilers but the Rise of the Resistance ride is also not to be missed - there’s nothing else like it it’s very unique.

MarcelineMissouri · 16/05/2020 11:01

@Aragog like @heartsonacake I too am not a massive Star Wars fan but galaxys edge was indeed amazing. Dh is a huge fan and he thought it was incredible. The millennium falcon ride was a bit average. Rise of The Resistance is amazing but does break down a lot - once we’d finally made it through the ride we understood why! It definitely has many parts!!

heartsonacake · 16/05/2020 11:03

Love Epcot as it's the least crowded park and low wait times for rides.

VisionQuest See I always find the opposite. We go a lot and Epcot is always crowded and full of drunks doing #drinkingroundtheworld all day long.

You can’t just sit and have a quiet beer in Germany because the lines are too long; they’re all queuing up for their next drink. They’re also all over the shops. I saw several instances of them spilling drinks on merchandise and knocking things over.

They need to do something about that challenge. The idea of Epcot is great but the reality is unfortunately something else.

Moana123 · 16/05/2020 11:08

What a great post! I love Disney too, we’re meant to be going to Florida in August this year, which I can’t see happening now.

Park: Epcot
Food: Funnel Cakes
Hotel: Beach Club
Restaurant: Garden Grill, Epcot
Ride: Soarin
Favourite Time: early November

Figmentofimagination · 16/05/2020 12:52

Aragog - the food and wine festival is amazing. I was there last year for it and ate so much.
I've also been for the flower and garden festival in April where they have food and drink stalls set up as well. We had the dining plan so decided as a group of 4 adults to eat and drink around the world using our credits. We then stupidly decided to have a full meal at Mexico. I was so full and ill the next day.
