Mea Culpa, I clicked on the Daily Fail. The poor lady is in her Pj's with her hair scraped back and no make up on.

Can't we get past this nonsense?

Ariseandsmellthetea99 · 13/05/2020 21:03

To be fair, it doesn't actually say anything horrible and helpfully tells you how to emulate her look.

slipperywhensparticus · 13/05/2020 21:05

They are making a point of mentioning her divorce settlement at every available opportunity it's so boring now like when she got dressed up to go out with her friends they said it was "backlash" because he had gone on holiday and she should move on or when she named her makeup line they attributed it to her not moving on sounds to me like she is doing great at moving on and perhaps they are the ones who need to move on

Ahem as you were (seriously I had no idea they were pissing me off so much)

Livelovebehappy · 13/05/2020 21:07

To be honest, if she was bothered about what people think, she wouldn’t have been posing outside in her pjs with hair scraped back. I’m WFH, and went into a mild panic today when boss wanted us all on webex. Managed to put lippy on, a bit of eye liner and straightened hair (Front bits..) in less than 5 minutes. She probably just doesn’t care what people think and is comfortable in her own skin - good for her!

MaggieAndHopey · 13/05/2020 21:07

I would say that one cast-iron guaranteed way of getting past this nonsense is to stop paying people to produce it - either by buying their papers and magazines, or by earning them advertising revenue through clicks. If we all stopped reading this shit, it would go away.

croprotationinthe13thcentury · 13/05/2020 21:08

Would you look like Lisa Armstrong for £30m? I would, at a push 👍

Elderflower14 · 13/05/2020 21:08

I feel sorry for her. Paps always trying to get the worst shots they can of her.. 😔 😔 😔 😔

MissConductUS · 13/05/2020 21:10

When I want to dip a toe into trashy UK tabloid news I usually take a peek at The Sun. It's good to see they have some real competition from the Daily Fail.

TheFaerieQueene · 13/05/2020 21:10

If you are so unhappy with this type of journalism (as intimated in your OP) why did you then subsequently post a link to the article that fired your ire? I suggest you have a little bit of an agenda.

randomer · 13/05/2020 21:14

Yes I have an agenda, correct. I am infact an under the covers reporter type person thingy scouring MN for responses.

OP posts:
gymbummy · 13/05/2020 21:14

I saw your thread title and my first reaction was that I thought I was about to read that she was dead due to such horrific media intrusion in her life. I don't know her, I don't really know anything about her other than the fact that the poor woman's husband left her and since then she has been hounded mercilessly by the gutter press.

There are enough 'celebrities' desperate to be photographed going about their boring lives, why do they need to stalk this lady and cackle in glee when they manage to pap her looking a little bit shit?

Sparklingbrook · 13/05/2020 21:16

Whenever there's a thread title with just a name and no clue to what is within I think they are dead too @gymbummy.

Pixie2015 · 13/05/2020 21:16

Love her pjs look so comfy - sure a lot of us are in the garden in ours

Mrsmadevans · 13/05/2020 21:18

She looks great & the dog obviously loves her

CiarCel · 13/05/2020 21:22

Gawd knows why but I clicked on this thread thinking it was about Lizzie Armistead... guess I had been thinking about cycling. i don't live in the UK so whilst I'm certainly not too 'highbrow' to know who Ant and Dec are, Ant's divorce had passed me by.

I read the Daily Mail article and she's a very wealthy woman who could have the best personal trainers/gourmet diet chefs/aesthetic surgeons at her disposal, a professional make up artist so knows the difference between having slap on or not, and clearly not oblivious to the presence of gutter press photographers outside her home; she clearly just doesn't give a shit what people she doesn't even know think of her - it's a very enviable trait.

nettie434 · 13/05/2020 21:24

I read the article Randomer. I am happy to talk about it. For one thing, we all know Lisa can do make up so it is clearly her choice. While there have been ridiculous amounts of scrutiny into her life, I like the way she carries on working at her job which she does not need to do from a financial perspective, her complete determination to stick to her own sense of self and not be influenced by media pressures, and the way she has stuck up for her rights post divorce. I suspect Ant would like nothing better than for her to hide in a country mansion and be invisible. I really admire her!

Rassy · 13/05/2020 21:28

I loved how you can tell how great her relationship with her dog Harley is. He looks so happy to be with her. Love her PJs too. Disappointed the mail didn't say where they are from!

YgritteSnow · 13/05/2020 21:28

I think she's great. She's refused to take his shit behaviour while not being loud and obnoxious about it. Quiet determination. I imagine she saw the very worst of him - what with him being a long term alcoholic and drug addict - and just as he gets sorted he dumps her for his PA. I am glad she got that settlement and I hope she has a happy and contented life from here on.

GreekOddess · 13/05/2020 21:30

If I didn't want to be photographed. I wouldn't go outside wearing my pyjamas. I don't feel sorry for her. She is rolling in it.

36degrees · 13/05/2020 21:40

@Rassy it says they're £25 from Next but sold out now. They do look really comfy.

we are all thinking it, but we won't admit it.

I'll say it - she looks a mess.

You're so brave Hmm

Please don't speak for me. I certainly don't think it, probs because I am rather "a mess" too...

Bojohair · 13/05/2020 21:45

I didn’t think it either and I hope she got a very good divorce settlement.

Lynda07 · 13/05/2020 21:46

She looked alright to me, just ordinary which is how most people look if they aren't going anywhere. Hasn't she done well money wise? £31m is not to be sneezed at.

I like her pyjamas.

SavoyCabbage · 13/05/2020 21:49

I’m honestly not ‘thinking it.’ I don’t see why she should have her hair done and a face of make up either.

Nor do I see why she shouldn’t get a decent divorce settlement.

And I think she must be a good make up artist as the make up on Strictly is not something I could imagine you could get away with being shit at and she’s the head make up artist.

CiarCel · 13/05/2020 21:55

I looked a mess when I rolled out of bed, pulled on my dressing gown, and took the dog out for a pee this morning. I dare say I would have looked prettier if I'd been 20 years younger and dolled up to be a pop star or on my wedding day- so what? Confused
