Lighthearted obviously

But I always enjoy them, mil is taking the biggest room, dh has lost his passport we fly tomorrow, SIL wants us all to work to her kids schedule.

Wonder what will take their place this summer

I can guarantee it will involve teachers! Grin
Lazy bastards not teaching through the holidays/expecting too much/ not doing enough/ posting on FB/getting paid for nothing/ not finding a cure for CV etc etcGrin Happy days MN!

Mrsjayy · 13/05/2020 11:23

I bet it will be teachers too what with them.getting a paid covid holiday they should be holding classes all
Summer. OR . neighbours fumigating the neighborhood with. BBQs

Atalune · 13/05/2020 11:25

Bad neighbour threads for sure.

Next door is ruining our staycation with their dog barking at 6pm for 6 minutes last Tuesday. I love called 111 about it. #fumingbabes

Atalune · 13/05/2020 11:25

Have! Not love

Thighmageddon · 13/05/2020 11:30

Demented posts about,

Sex ponds
BBQ's
Outdoor diy
Trampolines
Shrieking children
Barking dogs
Doof doof music/other shit music genres available
Shagging neighbours

And all of this on steroids.

The rage will be real Grin

notchickenagain · 13/05/2020 11:32

Oh gosh, yes, neighbours in the garden - noisy kids, balls flying over, trampolines squeaking. Just like now in fact but we will be 3 months further along. Nerves will be way past the jangling stage that's for sure. Grin

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/05/2020 11:34

Oh yes me too!

I remember one from maybe last year? When two women ended up switching holiday apartments because the third woman was insisting on bringing her husband away with them too. I must try and hunt that one out for a 're read

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/05/2020 11:35

here is is

notchickenagain · 13/05/2020 11:36

Oh that was brilliant bernadette! Was it a made up story in the end ? Whatever, kept me enthralled Grin

Mrsjayy · 13/05/2020 11:37

Oh I love the going on holiday with friends threads the more disastrous the better.

bigmove2020 · 13/05/2020 11:50

Not just me then thank goodness

I always love the passport ones, someone always forgets to check the date

managedmis · 13/05/2020 11:52

Oh god yeah I LOVE a good shit-holiday-with-the-family thread.

I started one once about smoking on the balcony at the cottage and got around 500 posts 😇

MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht · 13/05/2020 11:55

All this lockdown has minimised all the MIL dramas and school run bust ups as well. What is the point of MN anymore Grin

iVampire · 13/05/2020 11:57

There won’t be any schools sports day threads either

Nor any about —leavers’ disco— prom excesses

managedmis · 13/05/2020 11:58

BIL doing a spreadsheet to calculate the cost of 3 meals a day for 20 people with all the receipts for food and people splitting feathers over the cost of random items, half-price for kids, etc etc. SIL shit faced offa cheap white wine, BIL bringing his mistress on holiday, unbeknownst to everyone etc etc.

Fun times a go go

bigmove2020 · 13/05/2020 12:07

Not to promote trolling but we should make one up. I'll start

I'm going on Holiday to Spain with dhs entire extended family. Fil booked the flights two days before the school closed to save money

My favourite ever was a Mumsnetter who ended up staying in a caravan with her children, her mother, her mother's new partner (who she wouldn't stop shagging) and one or two large dogs. In the UK, in the rain.

I'll see if I can find it.

Hippywannabe · 13/05/2020 12:20

Oh has there ever been a bringing a mistress on holiday one? I would love a read of that

Mrsjayy · 13/05/2020 12:24

No school awards ceremony rages either or the proms are ridiculous.in my day... Rants

lastqueenofscotland · 13/05/2020 12:38

The best holiday thread ever was the Sistine screamer. I still think about that at least once a week.

What I won’t miss are the please give me money for my holiday of a lifetime climbing Kilimanjaro/doing EBC trek but I’ll claim it’s for charity so I get to feel self righteous.

I reckon instead we will have lots of
BBQ threads
Children on trampoline for 6 minutes making noise
Neighbours (who are always inevitably child free which for some reason = miserable on MN) complaining after being subjected to 5 weeks of darling Tobias shrieking in the garden from 5am-8pm every day.
Boozed up neighbours in the garden at 1 minute past 10pm.

lastqueenofscotland · 13/05/2020 12:40

Admittedly whenever I read the neighbour threads I thank my lucky stars I live in a quiet corner plot in a semi next door to a devout religious family with older children who don’t drink for religious reasons.

Atalune · 13/05/2020 12:55

I just reread the Carol, Barbara and Dick thread.

MaggieFS · 13/05/2020 12:57

We might get a few more parking threads back soon too Grin

PatriciaHolm · 13/05/2020 13:04

But you just know there will be some UK ones - people off to their second homes, or bumbling around in their caravans, who are aghast that the locals don't seem to be falling over themselves with gratitude that they are back.

Or from people in overwhelmed small tourist destinations where people come on day trips and park everywhere/leave litter/buy all the ice-creams.

Or people booking holiday cottages in the UK and frothing about how they found a small leaf in the front porch and this is evidence that the house hasn't been industrially bleached using a water cannon in between rents.

bigmove2020 · 13/05/2020 13:04

We might a few more cf threads, can we use your caravan for free, can you mind my kids for free
