What's on your fireplace (if you have one)?

Mine has two of my favourite photo's of the girls in frames (that probably won't match once I decorate), two tea light holders (definitely won't match once decorated), and a candle in the middle.

On the hearth are a selection of candles.

What's on yours? I'm after inspiration for something decorative for once I've finished decorating & we're eventually (hopefully) able to browse shops more freely :)

Family photos, real and electric candles and an antique clock on the mantle piece. Big fake flowers in the grate. And a small lamp on one corner.

TheSheepofWallSt · 24/04/2020 22:00

Jeeeezzzz

2 plants
Probably a dozen candle holders of various types- mostly stoneware and clay
A couple of A4 original online drawings propped up
2 antique Chinese bud vases in an acid green
Vase of flowers
An a5 art print in a frame
A box of matches hidden behind a picture
An antique red glass trinket dish full of buttons and shit

Confused

Photos. Candles. A glass jar ornament thing.

bettybattenburg · 24/04/2020 22:03

A glass model of a kiwi & Hector's dolphin, a silver medal, a sports photo, a duck, some pebbles and shells and a piece of a tree branch

Oh. That sentence means you probably don't want my contribution. Grin
I've got my dd's football trophy, a certificate she's been awarded, a framed photo from my niece's wedding, another photo of me and my sister that someone posted to me (not in a frame), a small camel family, and some dust.

mummymayhem18 · 24/04/2020 22:06

4 family pictures , mantle clock and candle snuffer behind the clock. I have a candlestick each end as well.

Holymolymackerel · 24/04/2020 22:06

A white clock and candles

Sarahlou63 · 24/04/2020 22:08

Alcohol. Bottles and bottles of the stuff. Plus car keys, sunglasses, a lamp and a half empty bottle of Tabasco.

madnessitellyou · 24/04/2020 22:09

A 60s clock which dh hates, a few scented candles, a little pot we bought in Spain I think and a small marble (possibly, might be some sort of granite) bear on a slate plinth that was a wedding present. I’m looking and there’s also a small bottle of bubbles. God knows!

TheoriginalLEM · 24/04/2020 22:09

3 dragon ornaments,
a little house insence burner,
some decorated stones,
some fir cones
A postcard of Freddie mercury with his cat
A bottle of Bloom Gin - empty.

Yankathebear · 24/04/2020 22:10

We don’t have a mantelpiece ours has a massive piece of oak sunk into the wall above it but can’t be used to put stuff on.
On the hearth we have candles and pine cones.

Houseinthemiddle · 24/04/2020 22:11

My fireplace is over 6ft high with columns. On the highest part I have a garland (just laying along the top), it looks a bit lost as normally I have three but I'm in the middle of cleaning.

Then there is a mirror built into the fireplace, on the mantle I have two glass candle holders and my mantle clock. Normally I have two pictures but I'm cleaning through.

Then there's a wood burner, hearth with wood in a basket, fender.

Pascha · 24/04/2020 22:13

Hmm. I'm with @BackforGood here. Left to right:

Ds1's bedroom clock (it ticks too loudly)
My inhaler
3 glass tea light holders (currently empty)
A subbuteo ball.
School photo
Dust.

Must do better...

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 24/04/2020 22:15

Two ikea fake plants, a succulent plant, my son’s silver elephant moneybox. On the hearth is a vase of fresh flowers, a photo of MIL (RIP), a photo of DS, and a scented candle

RickOShay · 24/04/2020 22:18

Big mirror. It’s an annoying fireplace as it’s the shelf isn’t wide enough.
I’m honestly jealous of people with wide window sills and fireplaces Grin
Mine are piddlely.

Unescorted · 24/04/2020 22:19

Candle sticks, Ds's sporting trophies, festival tickets (no longer happening), photos, plastic skull, ceramic skull, pig measuring tape, birthday cards, Christmas cards, race numbers, pens, important things that will get lost... important things that are lost.

mrspotatohed · 24/04/2020 22:19

A big ornate mantle mirror and two chunky silver candle sticks with a white pillar candle in each. Cant bare clutter!

Rockbird · 24/04/2020 22:21

Ooh @Racheyg I think you have the same tiles as me

DinosApple · 24/04/2020 22:21

We have a minimalist 1970s fireplace. No mantelpiece/surround at all, massive raised plinth in front.

Currently we have a brass coal scuttle full of wood, a stack of board games and box of paper waiting to be sorted. And a bag of fabric waiting to be turned into curtains.

H1978 · 24/04/2020 22:21

I’m very minimalist. Don’t have a traditional mantelpiece but have a black lantern from ikea on one side of the hearth and a long glass vase with bronze wirey twigs on the other side

Indecisivelurcher · 24/04/2020 22:24

Wedding photo of me and dh, carved wooden phallic man from NZ, clock that's set in an interesting chunk of wood, photo of the kids sitting in bluebells, and a pink orchid.

InArrears · 24/04/2020 22:28

Nothing.
