Is there anyone else on here that likes to smoke weed?

On all the threads I've seen that have mention cannabis it usually made out like the worse thing ever.

I'm a bit of a stoner tbh and just wondered if there is any others out there? I always see threads with people sharing what they drinking so thought I'd give it a go!

Not sure how this will go on here soo 🤞

Thanks @HirplesWithHaggis. I'm trying to resist naming them.

TheUser420 · 30/04/2020 15:54

although there's nearly always a strong smell of weed outside a house five doors away from me. Maybe I should just risk it and hope nobody notices it's coming from two houses

I get quite cross with growers that can't be considerate and set up their systems properly - with decent filtered extraction. I come from a time an age and place when it was considered essential to be a perfect neighbour and citizen if you grew your own.

Also, you do not know quite how pissed off you would be if your door came off it's hinges at 04:20 in the morning because your neighbour couldn't be bothered to keep it down.

Don't sell, tell or smell.

If you ever have cause to "nudge" a thoughtless grower, an anonymous letter through the post can do the trick. Hopefully the bowel loosening shock will be a lifetime lesson. Never ever let anyone ever know that you know they are growing (if they are following the rules, they should never tell you ...). Because if anything were to happen, it will forever be your fault.

@thequeenbeyondthewall - We got some RSO imported (at great expense) for DM who had terminal cancer (sadly she got too ill too quickly to see if it benefited her), so I have have tried it, but not made it myself. It doesn't look too complicated to make, if you have the right kit and take the right precautions, that is. The Medical Cannabis Guidebook is a good resource, as are Rick's own video guides.

Made some ABV coconut oil last night. Smells pokey!

CockCarousel · 30/04/2020 16:23

Yay, hello mumsnet stoners Smile

I rediscovered my love of weed a couple of years ago when I thought of trying it for peri-meno sleeplessness, was brilliant. I went from sleeping 3 hours a night to 7/8. No need for HRT.

I like vaping or having it in butter (for my space-toast Grin) and although I smoke tobacco, I don't like the 2 mixed together that much. I use a Storm Sapphire, which I may replace with the Spirit, as the oven's becoming a little blocked.

Does anyone here dab? It looks so complicated!

And what music are we all listening to? Any Kid Cudi fans? Grin

JudyGemstone · 30/04/2020 16:35

GoGoPowerScooter before I got my vape I was using Real Leaf organic herbal blend or Mellow Yellow as tobacco substitutes.

Both fine, for used to them after a while anyway! Best when ground up.

Ylfa · 30/04/2020 16:51

Psytrance 🎶

seekingwaxwings · 30/04/2020 17:05

CockCarousel omg I LOVE Kid Cudi!! I got into him after googling 'best music to listen to when stoned' Grin My favourite album is Man on the Moon. I can rap along with him to most of them which is a tragic sight as I am nearly 48. One of my favourite tracks of his is 'Cudderisback' which is on YouTube but not Apple Music for some reason.

Cypress Hill are another favourite listen when I'm blazed. I also love to watch songs with tripout videos on YouTube, I recommend taking a look at Die Antwoord for this. Those guys must be off their tits 24/7!

I also am partial to the odd deep house session, a particular favourite is Route 94 'My Love'.

JudyGemstone · 30/04/2020 17:30

Hmm, artists over the last week include Flying Lotus, Mala, Kendrick Lamar, Thievery Corporation, Ocean Wisdom.
A lot of hip hop, too many to list but definitely cypress hill!
Reggae/Dub, again too many to list.

Oh and the Talk Talk album Spirit of Eden. Stunning.

Will definitely check out Kid Cudi!

thequeenbeyondthewall · 30/04/2020 17:37

@Slurpy

Thank you. I'm sorry about your DM.

I have ordered some to try for my DH as he suffers with pain management at the moment. He's torn ligaments in his knee I think.

It's also for me to try for fun.

CockCarousel · 30/04/2020 17:57

Same age as me seeking. I like a lot of late 80s and early 90s club music, Orbital sound amazing while high! And hiphop, (love Kendrick) although the lyrics really bother me as I've got older, there's a real cognitive dissonance when I sing along. Young Fathers sound particularly good when high. I think my favourite Cudi song is , and so appropriate for the thread!

Does anyone use for meditation? I find it really helpful. Also love having a vape before taking my dog out in the woods, sometimes I pretend we're on a quest Grin

JudyGemstone · 30/04/2020 18:23

Yes for meditation!

Also, for 'shadow work', if I ever get the anxious/thoughts racing effect (very rare) I sort of lean into it with curiosity and use it as an opportunity to explore any blind spots or issues I may not have been aware of, then I can analyse them later and see if any of it is worth paying attention to - if any of that makes sense?

Anxiety/negative thoughts are nothing to be afraid of if you 'know thyself'.

seekingwaxwings · 30/04/2020 19:23

Judy wow shadow work sounds interesting!

CockCarousel that's another one of my favourite Kid Cudi songs! I get what you mean about lyrics absolutely. You mentioning Orbital has reminded me, I LOVE watching live music festivals on tv stoned. Last year I watched Orbital at Glastonbury having never listened to them before and they were AMAZING! I also watched Alt-J at some or other festival and omg my mind was blown. Love them now. Watched Dolly Parton at Glasto baked too which was fantastic. That's something I'm really going to miss this year, televised live music festivals. Sad

CockCarousel · 30/04/2020 20:14

Judy I didn't know the term shadow term, but I've worked through almost a lifetime of neuroses in this last year. I trained to be a counsellor, but (for me) smoking weed has really helped me far more than therapy. Weed could be so useful in a therapeutic setting!

seeking do you like Leftfield? Leftism is such a good album. Lorn is another amazing artist, Acid Rain is sublime! I'm also obsessed with the latest Weeknd album at the moment, I like his darker stuff. (I could talk about music all the time, can you tell? Grin)

I've attached a pic of the beautiful rainbow I saw while I was out with the dog. Sunshine on a rainy day!

CockCarousel · 30/04/2020 20:15

*shadow work, not term obviously.

CockCarousel · 30/04/2020 20:28

seekingwaxwings dear sweet Post Malone is doing a Nirvana tribute RIGHT NOW live on Youtube Shock Yay!

JudyGemstone · 30/04/2020 22:15

CockCarousel I am a therapist Smile don't use it in my work though, not sure the nhs would go for it yet!

I believe shadow self/shadow work is a jungian term, I just use it in my own way though really.

I love the album Leftism! And orbital! Watching festivals/live music is great stoned tv, love a bit of jules Holland too. And music documentaries!

riotlady · 30/04/2020 23:06

Oh hello! I found my people xD I smoke with my partner, it’s helped a lot with my PTSD.

Ylfa · 01/05/2020 08:18

Leftfield easily among my best live experiences ever, up there with Prodigy - one was a teeny tiny venue, all squished in together with the bass pulsing through our sweaty bodies 😀 it’s one of my ‘happy places’ to go when something unpleasant is happening (dentist, optician). The other was fairly recently, maybe 3 years ago? Brixton academy, the new remastered leftism album 😍😍😍 obviously that works best with Other Drugs.

Thanks so much for the Kid Cudi just what I am recommendation, love it!

JudyGemstone · 01/05/2020 09:26

Yeah had a listen to Kid Cudi last night 👌🏼

seekingwaxwings · 01/05/2020 10:55

CockCarousel thank you so much for the Post Malone alert, I love Nirvana anyway but it was fantastic! I only realised this morning that it wasn't actually live but as I believed it was I had an amazing time. Grin

I'm going to check out Leftfield too and your other recommendations.

CockCarousel · 01/05/2020 19:30

I realised it wasn't live about 5 mins in seeking Blush. I'd even lit a few candles and some incense. I especially loved Heart shaped box. And they wore dresses!

I should have known that was Jung Judy . Luckily I never counselled anybody professionally Grin I'm fascinated with the man though, he built a house with his bare hands in Switzerland(?) and would have long conversations with Philomen(?) his imaginary friend as they took a turn around the garden together.

I am well jel Ylfa, Not Forgotten was one of the background tracks to my clubbing days.

Hello and welcome (even though I only got here yesterday Grin) riot. I would pass the blunt, but social distancing etcetera etcetera.

How's everyone feeling today? I felt a bit draggy but once me and the dog got out into the woods and the sun was shining, watching him chase around with his dog friends, everything felt much better. Glad everyone likes Cudi, there's a Ted talk where he talks about mental health that I found interesting, he's very engaging.

I do apologise for swooping on and rabbiting on like a wanker to everyone, but it's nice to chat to other women who smoke. I've read a couple of the UK based blazers forums but found them... intimidating perhaps. Too much testosterone posturing.

Ylfa · 02/05/2020 15:15

Rabbit away! 😀 (I’m a big fan of bunnies)

On the stoner aspect of life I just did a celebrity look alike thing and Cheech Marin came up as a match (as a woman, about 30 years younger than him, it’s not flattering but mustn’t grumble) so now I feel like watching Up in Smoke, it’s been a long time

thequeenbeyondthewall · 02/05/2020 15:19

Smiley face is a good film with Anna Faris

Ylfa · 02/05/2020 15:45

Thanks thequeen, added it to the watch list. Everyone is so grumpy here (in my house) today, maybe it will make them laugh?

thequeenbeyondthewall · 02/05/2020 16:02

We are watching Derry girls. My DH hasn't seen it.

If he doesn't stop eating m and m's with his mouth open (and I can't stress this enough) he won't be seeing anything.
