Of course, my dad hates clotted cream so has always had whipped double. Just add some icing sugar to help thicken it up a bit more.

Overseasmom100 · 18/04/2020 09:25

Thanks will give it a go

Yes, double cream whips.

Daisydoesnt · 18/04/2020 09:25

of course, why ever not!? You can whip double cream till its really stiff, you don't need icing sugar to do that.

Wandastartup · 18/04/2020 09:29

You can make clotted cream from whipped cream

Overseasmom100 · 18/04/2020 09:45

It'll taste lovely. Star
I'm all out of cream so can't make any more, so I'm jealous!
Normally I buy extra thick double cream which plops on beautifully and I don't have to whisk it...

Ifailed · 18/04/2020 10:42

Are you suggesting putting the cream on top of the jam?

TSSDNCOP · 18/04/2020 11:03

@Ifailed I think you would need to with whipped cream.

Exceptional times we live in when even scone building is compromised.

MrsEricBana · 18/04/2020 11:06

The Queen and I prefer jam first so I think it'll work out 😂

JigsawsAreInPieces · 18/04/2020 11:08

Are you suggesting putting the cream on top of the jam?

Well that is what you do with it! Hmm

Ginfordinner · 18/04/2020 11:13

Cream cakes that you can buy contain whipped double cream.

NatashaRomanov · 18/04/2020 11:33

Add a bit of icing sugar, and a few drops of vanilla extract for really yummy cream!

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 18/04/2020 11:36

Oh my God don't add icing sugar Envy (boak)

MrsEricBana · 18/04/2020 11:40

And we're off...

NaomiFromMilkShake · 18/04/2020 11:51

Cream and then Bonne Maman raspberry jam.

I declare this thread closed as no further discussion is required and anyone who tries to say differently is a PHILISTINE. Grin

GrumpyHoonMain · 18/04/2020 11:52

I make Nimish and add it to scones. Really nice

lazylinguist · 18/04/2020 11:56

Of course the whipped cream goes on top of the jam. Confused Whipped cream is very soft - how on earth would you spread jam on top of it?! Of course, the cream goes on top whatever kind of cream it is anyway. Grin

Lemonblast · 18/04/2020 11:59

Squirty cream works well but has to be consumed quickly.

NaomiFromMilkShake · 18/04/2020 12:03

@Lemonblast

I don't know you, but you are dead to me.

Squirty cream, the very idea. Shock
