Randoms online are more keen to make personal attacks than usual

Oh dear, that's two randoms I don't know who've decided to have a go at me for no reason/excessively. I know this sometimes happens online, but this seems more random than usual.

I think maybe it's some people's way of feeling less bored. They need a hobby, or to find some programmes to watch.

Just posting as an observation really.

Definitely noticed an increase in aggressive and insulting replies much more than normal on MN.

This place is getting more rotten by the minute.

If only there was another place we could go where mums chat?

I think there are people looking for posts they can respond to aggressively/negatively, as they often seem to be the first reply.

Although, not with this thread, obvs.

I also think the threads on here at the moment are so repetitive that they are trying to spice it up but it's not very nice.

I think its why people are looking for alternative websites. I cant really manage the drama on here

Most of the country is cooped up at home - many without outdoor space. Many of the usual distractions of work gossip, shopping, gym are missing, money might be running out, kids might be bored, DP an equally bored pia.

I think a walk would do them good if they're able.

@EdwinaMay Most people manage not to do it. I understand that everyone's a bit bored or whatever, but they're still in control of their typing fingers etc.

Maybe one of the upsides of CV is that we'll all have thicker skins and not be so likely to rise to the bait when goady gits start on us.

I left loads of facebook groups and I have silenced a few people and that has helped.

That's disgusting and I don't honestly think it would happen on the other new site, they seem to be much friendlier over there.

This place is even more full of dementors and bitchploppers than usual. It's almost as though people can't read and move on if a thread is not for them, they have to have a go.

Yep, I've been on the receiving end of this recently. I also came across one of those fast moving "chatty" threads the other day where the regulars were posting links to other threads just to collectively mock and bitch about them, make snide comments about other posters on the board, etc
