Really rough strand of hair

Lemonslices · 09/04/2020 20:38

I was running my hand through my hair and felt a really rough strand of hair.
I pulled it out and took a picture.

It felt like a bit of cotten thread and was really crinkled, the rest of my hair is smooth.

Can anyone solve a mystery

My grey hairs are crinkly and wiry like that.

Damaged follicle or ... age.

I have a patch like that where I had a cyst removed.

RandomMess · 09/04/2020 20:40

Yep your first grey...

I get these and love pulling them out. I don't know why considering I've got horrible thin hair you'd think I'd keep it!

I've heard that people get curly/wavy hair is because of the way their skin on their head moves so as the hair is coming through and it's moved about it creates waves. No idea how true that is though Grin

Congratulations

I get hairs like this, I love pulling them out!!

eosmum · 09/04/2020 21:11

I get ones that are perfectly crimped.

OccasionalNachos · 09/04/2020 21:19

I get these and love pulling them out. They feel so strange.

When DP had long hair he got them too. Wouldn’t let me pull them out though

Northernsoullover · 09/04/2020 21:20

I've got really fine hair too and I marvel at my thick wiry greys..

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 09/04/2020 21:22

I found one of these the other day. The rest of my hair is blonde and really fine. I yanked it out!

MysteryFrog · 09/04/2020 21:37

I get the odd one like this, really thick and black and wiggly, usually from around my crown

seven201 · 09/04/2020 21:59

I love finding ones like that!

DramaAlpaca · 09/04/2020 22:02

I have one like that. It gets pulled out.

TheChosenTwo · 09/04/2020 22:04

I’ve got quite coarse, thick wavy hair and I often find these wiggly ones! I pull them out. I don’t really know why.
I don’t have any greys yet!

Pyjamasarethenewblack · 09/04/2020 22:06

I get these. In white and in black. So visions of me sporting an immaculate white bob in my old age have shattered. I will have the salt and pepper locks of a crone 😓

ThisMustBeMyDream · 09/04/2020 22:12

Yep, I get these too. I have blonde fine hair. They come through as red/ginger thick wiry wiggly hairs! I pluck them out. I find them fascinating! Glad I am not alone. I suspect they would be grey if I was going to go grey. I'm 35, and no grey hairs.

NisekoWhistler · 09/04/2020 22:13

I have a fair few of these, I always pull them out. So satisfying

userxx · 09/04/2020 22:14

Love finding these. Such a weird texture.

Concerned12345 · 09/04/2020 22:15

Genetic throwback

DakotaFanny · 09/04/2020 22:17

Pubey hairs. One of life's Great pleasures!

Justmuddlingalong · 09/04/2020 22:18

I plucked a really long, wiry eyebrow hair out last night. It was about twice the length of its mates. I think the root was somewhere behind my right nostril. It was the highlight of my Wednesday, sadly.

BelfastNonBlonde · 09/04/2020 22:20

I get these. I Pull them out.

ChampagneCommunist · 09/04/2020 22:20

Yay! Head pubes! One of the few good things about ageing

Ginkypig · 09/04/2020 22:25

That's the same as my grey hairs the rest of my hair is very soft and very straight!

Lemonslices · 09/04/2020 22:28

I'm glad I'm not alone, Im not 30 yet and I have a few grey hairs but none of them were like that.
My hair is dyed with a 28 wash dye and has a natural wave to it.

I hope it wasn't a dark grey 😅😅.
Wahhhhhh I don't want to get old,
