Really rough strand of hair

I was running my hand through my hair and felt a really rough strand of hair.
I pulled it out and took a picture.

It felt like a bit of cotten thread and was really crinkled, the rest of my hair is smooth.

Can anyone solve a mystery

Wait until you get these on your chin.

Yep I get them. Love them 🤣

I get them too!! I read they can be a sign of stress, and they do fit in with times when I’m stressed. They remind me of hair from a Halloween wig!

Have been gaining these steadily with age (am 33) and I also love pulling them out and marvelling at them. I’m dark brunette and a lot of the time the coarse, wiry hairs grow in in this weird red/ginger shade.

I also get these wiry crimped ones that grow vertically out of the top of my head. Just sticking straight up. It makes me wonder what sort of hair do I'm going to have to cope with if I'm lucky to reach old age.

Have you leant over a open flame recently? I burnt the end of my pony tail leaning over the gas hob and frying pan whilst cooking! I was gutted.
