........DS teaching himself to play the homemade digeridoo he has just proudly shown me.

Wouldnt be so bad if he was little but he is a big strapping 14 year old who makes the house shake when speaking at normal volume at the best of times. Him on that thing could bring the whole street down.

I'll see you all on the other side!

Our delivery driver laughed at us, and said he hoped our neighbours were forgiving as he delivered DS2's drum kit yesterday! The cats appear to like it!

ALemonyPea · 03/04/2020 16:43

Wine and ear plugs, stock up,on the essentials on your trip out.

FuckingTuiles · 03/04/2020 16:43

The kid that lives out the back of ours was playing a recorder in the garden today. I considered going out and taking my chance with the virus.

Whoever invented the recorder is going to hell.

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 16:44

Oh god good. You need to arrange an "accident", OP. Either the didge or the son, up to you.

lucysmam · 03/04/2020 16:45

Dd1 plays guitar and ukelele, and dd2 has today decided to get out the ukelele she asked for for her December birthday Hmm My neighbours will love those being added to the almost constant singing of musicals Grin

CheriLittlebottom · 03/04/2020 16:47

*good god. Fecking autocorrect.

PyongyangKipperbang · 03/04/2020 16:50

Oh we have constant musical theatre being sung here too, and in not quite the right key so it grates like fingernails down a black board!

@lucysmam @PyongyangKipperbang

I really feel for you both, Wine and earplugs are my answer

AmelieTaylor · 03/04/2020 16:52

Someone around here has decided to learn the guitar. Weirdly seems that 20pm to 2am seems he’s at his most creative. 🙄🙄im all for people teaching themselves new skills, but FFS that time of night?!

So far the cats & foxes are holding a better tune.

AmelieTaylor · 03/04/2020 16:52

Bloody phone 10PM

lucysmam · 03/04/2020 16:53

@Evilspiritgin I have, funnily enough, just poured a glass of wine while I think about cooking tea Grin

glassseagulls · 03/04/2020 17:03

@PyongyangKipperbang if it's any consolation to you, and it bloody well should be, I have a 14 year old, a didgeridoo and no wine

PyongyangKipperbang · 03/04/2020 17:09

@glassseagulls

Oh mate....I am so sorry.

I will hold a minutes silence for you later.....well a minute with me not shouting up the stairs anyway.....

In the last 2 days 15 year old dd has taught herself to play the guitar. She's used YouTube and a beginners book. I'm hugely impressed with her. She has worked out about 8 songs which she can now simultaneously sing and play.

I have such huge sympathy with any of you who have children with a digeridoo, recorder or violin!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/04/2020 17:49

It's Friday night. Drink through the pain!

glassseagulls · 03/04/2020 18:26

@PyongyangKipperbang thank you Grin
@Littlefish In this house we have two violins, an electric violin, an electric guitar, a didgeridoo and a piano.

If the DCs want to spend all day on the xbox then right now I don't have a problem with it Grin

MrsSnitchnose · 03/04/2020 18:32

@lucysmam This will be your house this Christmas Grin

springydaff · 03/04/2020 18:33

Would this change your mind, Tuiles?

lucysmam · 03/04/2020 18:36

@MrsSnitchnose dd1 quite fancies a keyboard this year; she's been learning at school 🙄🙄

MrsSnitchnose · 03/04/2020 18:43

@lucysmam Oh dear...I suppose it could be worse screechy violin that thankfully DS gave up on

MerryDeath · 03/04/2020 18:48

LOL Grin

Zaphodsotherhead · 03/04/2020 18:50

When my five lived at home, we had one guitar, one flute, one violin, one singer and a recorder.

I used to amuse myself by making them stand in height order to play, so I could convince myself I was bringing up the Von Trapp kids.

They've left home now. I still have some hearing left but I've lost the high notes...

Samtsirch · 03/04/2020 18:52

Over the road from us a 6 year old has been teaching all 4 of his siblings every single one of the songs he has ever learned at preschool/ school. In the garden, at the tops of their voices 😂
It’s very sweet but my ears are bleeding.
I’m fearful their mum won’t let them in until dark
😂🤣😂

PyongyangKipperbang · 03/04/2020 18:56

I wouldnt blame her for making them sleep in the shed?!
