Where can you buy paint online?

Anyone else doing DIY projects whilst we’re in lockdown? I’m looking to buy paint online, does anyone have any recommendations?

A lot of places are out of stock or closed. Wilko still had paint when I checked but I think it was click and collect. Same with B&Q...

skippy67 · 02/04/2020 12:16

The Decorating Centre online.

Wildernesstips · 02/04/2020 12:17

I’ve ordered direct from Dulux just before the lockdown and was delivered with no problem. Advantage is you can have the colour mixed that you can’t always get in the shops.

You can still buy A wide range on amazon and have it delivered, some prime, some different sellers.

Bluntness100 · 02/04/2020 12:19

Dulux have now closed orders, I also got some two weeks ago and went to place another order and they said they aren’t taking them any more.

I can't find anywhere to get paint! I'm desperate to finish the decorating program in my house that I started in January - wanted to get it all done for Easter Sad

RNBrie · 02/04/2020 12:21

Sorry - Wickes... not Wilco!

wowfudge · 02/04/2020 12:23

Try a local DIY/home decor shop with a paint mixer - they are likely to be doing deliveries locally.

newmenewteeth · 02/04/2020 12:29

Homebase are delivering paint

TinaMumsnet · 02/04/2020 15:52

Thanks for this! I had a look at Homebase, it's a 14 day wait for home delivery, but I suppose I've got time! I'll take another look at decorating centre online too, looks like they're reopening for online orders tonight

You could try ordering direct, eg Farrow and Ball?

JoeySpecial · 13/04/2020 10:47

DO NOT ORDER FROM HOMEBASE.

I ordered at the end of March and had an email yesterday to say it will be at least 22nd May before I get my order!

Have cancelled.

Just queued for Wickes online, took ages choosing paint that was in stock. Tried to check out and it was all out of stock!

ohdearmymistake · 13/04/2020 11:35

I've been looking for paint also, it's not easy I suppose they class it as none essential so you're not having it.

It's really frustrating as I have the time and the weather, I want to paint the outside of the house.

I did go to The Range and they had quite a bit of paint just not masonry, luckily they had the fence protector paint I wanted.

I had ordered it at B and Q they said it would be ready to collect the next day but wait for the email to say the order was ready. I went to collect to be turned away having been told I had to wait for the 2nd email then I could collect.
I tried again only to be turned away again as it was 4.30 and they closed at 5 and it was stupid of me to arrive at that time even though the email didn't arrive till then.
I'm going to make my 3rd attempt tomorrow.

Don't bother trying to order at B and Q.

JoeySpecial · 13/04/2020 12:34

What was The Range like? Was it busy? I feel bad going to shops just for paint 🙈

123456abcd · 13/04/2020 12:38

This morning waited 50 mins to get into Wickes website, once in I was able to order to 'Click & Collect'. They phoned me 30 mins later to say it was ready to collect.

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 13/04/2020 12:43

It depends on how much you had planned to spend but Little Greene are operating with almost normal lead times. Their customer service is excellent. Their prices are similar to Farrow & Ball but I prefer their paint.

Farrow and Ball are very delayed - 14 to 21 days. I ordered from Dulux before the lockdown and it took them about two weeks to deliver. They did email to apologise.

Starisnotanumber · 13/04/2020 13:12

The large b and m near us is selling paint and similar stuff such as brushes etc.
Thetes a wait to get in but plenty of choice when you get inside.
They don't do delivery though

youvegottobekidding · 13/04/2020 13:22

JoeySpecial, how did you cancel your order, did you just ring them? We ordered some paint last Mon.

MistyIsland · 13/04/2020 13:27

I tried to click and collect paint at wickes and it wouldn’t let me 🤷‍♀️

MistyIsland · 13/04/2020 13:28

I may take a trip to the range and stock up on craft bits as well

bobstersmum · 13/04/2020 13:29

If you are lucky enough to get an asda slot, most asda stock paint, mostly Johnstones though I think.

JoeySpecial · 13/04/2020 13:34

I went onto instagram and private messaged them!

Had emailed them but had no response. I had a reply almost straight away from Instagram. Am just going to keep checking for the money to go back into my account.

They shouldn't be taking orders if they cannot fulfil them. So annoying.

ohdearmymistake · 13/04/2020 14:22

JoeySpecial

The Range wasn't particularly busy which surprised me, I did feel slightly bad for going but I had been food shopping and The Range was just a bit further down.

sleepingpup · 13/04/2020 14:24

Decorating Centre Online. You don't have to leave your house.

ellelikespizza · 13/04/2020 14:27

During lockdown I've ordered paint from Homebase (1 week delivery a few weeks ago), B&Q (click & collect next day) and also Screwfix (delivery next day for £5 or free on orders over £50) Smile
