I just have to wear shoes (lighthearted)

Socks or slippers usually slippers. No shoes are to be worn in the house.

Witchend · 01/04/2020 06:48

I'm barefoot most of the day. I'm still in work.
People have just accepted it as a strange quirk and don't normally comment.

inwood · 01/04/2020 07:04

Always. Hate wearing shoes. Wouldn't wear them outside if I could get away with it.

Oblomov20 · 01/04/2020 07:10

Slippers, have always loved my slippers.

anothernotherone · 01/04/2020 07:11

Socks in winter, no shoes. I had foot problems when I tried wearing slippers one winter. We have hard floors (tiles downstairs, wood upstairs) but no shoes in the house, ever.

Live in Germany where people would as soon walk into someone else's house in "street shoes" as they'd walk in and spit on the floor, so it's never been remotely an issue except when my parents visit and used to walk in in their outdoor shoes - I didn't say anything but when the children were toddlers they were properly shocked, having always lived here, and asked me why in the non subtle outraged way toddlers have. They're older now and wouldn't say anything.

OhTheRoses · 01/04/2020 07:16

No. Generally I wear slippers. At my desk working I need my shoes on to feel professional and corporate.

FrogFairy · 01/04/2020 07:16

Socks here. I have problem feet so it is bad enough having to wear shoes when I leave the house.

For those who have cold feet, I highly recommend M&S thermal socks. Feet are nice and warm but never sweaty.

AnneJeanne · 01/04/2020 07:20

Mocassins

lazylinguist · 01/04/2020 07:23

No, because I am prone to plantar fasciitis and have hard floors. Slippers or crocs here.

Fishcakey · 01/04/2020 07:23

Mostly barefoot or flip flops but it's cold at the moment so I keep putting socks on.

woodencoffeetable · 01/04/2020 07:24

no. my feet get too cold. birkenstock slippers & fluffy socks for me.
I also have nerve damage following a fracture some years ago and bare feet hurt.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/04/2020 07:25

I've wfh for years, one of the benefits is not having to wear shoes!Grin
It's still sock weather but in summer I'll be barefoot.

JorisBonson · 01/04/2020 07:28

Barefoot whenever possible!

Aragog · 01/04/2020 07:53

We don't wear outdoor shoes in the house anyway.

Dh wears slippers.
Me and dd go barefoot.

ExpletiveDelighted · 01/04/2020 08:01

It's too cold at the moment, plus I'm prone to plantar fasciitis so socks and slippers for me. Once the weather turns warmer I'll ditch the socks and if I need the support I have some old Birkenstocks.

TroysMammy · 01/04/2020 08:03

No after having plantar fasciitis last year which was extremely painful I'd never go barefoot again.

TheVanguardSix · 01/04/2020 08:03

Socks and my 'house only' Birkenstocks Bostons.
That's how I've done it for years.

LooseGoose29 · 01/04/2020 08:03

I am a total barefoot person anyway. I hate shoes and socks. I particularly hate socks disgusting sweaty foot condoms.
I am barefoot in the house and garden all the time, in the summer I also take my shoes (usually flip flops) off in the park, at the beach, on campsites. A walk round the block barefoot. I only wear shoes for work, driving or going in shops, school, library.

Parker231 · 01/04/2020 08:04

Always barefoot at home

HarrySnotter · 01/04/2020 08:06

(Bare feet in slippers make the slippers minging)

Why do bare feet make slippers minging?

I wear crocs indoors (to my shame 😊) I have plantar fascitis and they help massively.

midnightstar66 · 01/04/2020 08:08

No my feet wound be freezing. I have indoor ugg boots (warmer and sturdier than actual slippers) also I have 2 hoovers - both broken so I'd get all sorts stuck to my feet, excitedly awaiting the arrival of my new shark this week 😬

amazedmummy · 01/04/2020 08:08

Barefoot here partly because it's comfy and partly because I can't find my slippers.

ExpletiveDelighted · 01/04/2020 08:09

Crocs are the worst thing I can wear for plantar fasciitis, I keep an old pair by the back door for popping up to the garden shed or to the bin but I can't wear them for more than a few minutes now before I start getting twinges.

JudyCoolibar · 01/04/2020 08:11

Yes. I always have preferred bare feet so taking the opportunity as much as possible.

MrsJBaptiste · 01/04/2020 08:12

I've been freezing sat working from home so have had socks and slippers on for the past two weeks.

I'm now sick of looking like shit (even though nobldy apart from family can see me) so have started wearing nicer clothes and my nice new trainers to make me feel less slobby!
