Where will you go on your next holiday?

You have an unlimited budget (within reason. Not helicopter or personal chauffeur driving you everywhere type budget)

Where will you go and what will you do? I can't decide between a walking holiday in Scotland where I tick off a few Munros or a horse riding holiday in Wales. I know I want somewhere with good tearooms so I can sit in them and eat properly nice slabs of cake. With that said, Cornwall also tempts.

We were meant to be going to Cornwall at the end of next week but of course that's now off, so with that in mind I'd like to say Cornwall! We were looking forward to it so much and can't help but feel disappointed that our first family holiday in 3 years has had to be cancelled so we're going to re-book as soon as we can.

Ilovecharliecat · 26/03/2020 19:18

We came back from the Maldives at the end of January when the corona virus was starting to kick off two weeks of total bliss . It was a splurge for us but now that my kids are grown up that’s where I’m hoping to go back. The island is closed now I feel sorry for the staff as they were all wonderful

Stripeyfrog · 26/03/2020 19:22

My DD (13) was meant to be going to Spain with her bestie. She was really looking forward to it as we mostly go camping/caravan.
But....If we all get through this without losing friends or family I actually couldnt give a fuck where I go I'll be happy to go anywhere!!

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 26/03/2020 19:49

I think we might look at Scotland too, maybe the highlands for some walking.

Loveatortie · 26/03/2020 19:54

Scotland to visit my family.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/03/2020 20:40

Going to visit my sister in the west coast of the US. We have been talking and talking about it but definitely going and the DC will be perfect ages to enjoy it.

Wolfiefan · 26/03/2020 20:43

@Noooblerooble how about Scotland followed by (I think it’s) Cumbria and riding heavy horses on the beach?
If we win the lottery I’m buying a bloody great mobile home thing and touring.
Or visiting the Caribbean where DH and I got married.

LazyFace · 26/03/2020 20:51

Probably to my home country to see my family if they're still all alive.

Wolfiefan · 26/03/2020 20:53

Oh lazy. Sad
Wishing you all. And all your families good health.

LazyFace · 26/03/2020 21:07

Sorry... didn't mean to kill the mood. I guess there are loads of people in a similar situation.

Wolfiefan · 26/03/2020 21:12

You didn’t at all.
I’m dreaming of the seaside. But more the deserted type on remote islands.
Can you buy an island??

Bridgeofpies · 26/03/2020 22:44

Ooooh this is my favourite game!

I am going to do a driving holiday through France, stopping off to sample the many, many gastronomic delights on offer! I will end up in Provence where I will stay in a beautiful villa where you can sit under dappled olive grove shade, smell the lavender fields on the warm Mediterranean breeze, listen to the cicadas chirruping and watch the boats on the smudge of blue sea you can see at the end of the infinity pool. Glass of cold, crisp rose in hand. Of course. Cheers! Grin

Hellokittymania · 26/03/2020 23:02

Las kitcheneras to have some good coffee…

Sorry, couldn’t help it.🤣🤣

I’m enjoying watching what’s happening to the environment though, so I might actually explore somewhere nice in England…

Moreisnnogedag · 26/03/2020 23:17

Road trip round US national parks in a camper van Four weeks. Not a big camper van but one that I can drive too. We are going to get tree tents (not really as they can damage the trunks and lots of places won’t allow them apparently).

Mixitupalot · 27/03/2020 00:02

As avid travellers I think our family holidays may change a lot. We usually do 3/4 city breaks & then 2 weeks in October long haul.

I feel like now we should be staying in the UK & taking advantage of what we have on our doorsteps.

Then again there’s so much to see & enjoy out there 😳

TheLarkDescending · 27/03/2020 01:01

I really want to see more of Central / South America. Costa Rica is probably top of my list.

Or a driving holiday around Iceland.

Or Tasmania.

scrivette · 27/03/2020 04:27

I love camping, so think I would order some warm dry weather and go camping in the Lake District. Somewhere without pitches so you can have your own space.

I love the Lake District and hope my children fall in love with it like I did.

heidbuttsupper · 27/03/2020 04:35

Some holiday suggestions Grin

Where will you go on your next holiday?
Whataboutthismess · 27/03/2020 04:37

Hotel Villa Maria in Tenerife.

It's beautiful and very clean. I can't wait to it reopens so we can go.

TeenPlusTwenties · 27/03/2020 09:28

Jersey. It is my happy place.

Noooblerooble · 27/03/2020 16:08

Camping in the Lake District sounds good. I've never been but have wanted to for years.

Cambodia would be my dream. Angkor Wat.
Masurian Lake District in Poland.

Those would be my ideal spots. But it's all fantasy for now.

fishonabicycle · 27/03/2020 16:23

My son just came back from Cambodia - he loved it, and was gutted to have to come home. I'd like to do a tour of Vietnam and/or Japan.

Raera · 27/03/2020 16:54

We will do what we had intended to do which is to drive down to the Algarve to visit friends who live there.
Take about a month to do so, travelling in our Motorhome.

NotSorry · 27/03/2020 17:22

Hoping we can take our Cornwall trip in August - would also love to do an American road trip too
