How to go from flat butt to rounded and large?

QuakingQuiche · 26/03/2020 01:29

I’m a size 10 top and size 6-8 bottom (thin legs and completely flat butt)

Has anyone who was like this followed a squat program/workout of some type, to get a curvy rounded larger behind?

If so, how long did it take to see results? Did you have to keep doing it to maintain it? Did you do it at the gym or at home and how frequently?

Thanks!

I've a flat butt but you can improve it a bit with single leg squats and lunges, but you rally need to focus on contracting your glutes, as will also work your quads and they are a stronger muscle and may dominate. You can try leg lifts on all fours but I don't find they do much.

Yester · 26/03/2020 07:41

Don't get surgery though as they will date and look ridiculous!

OatMilkAddict · 26/03/2020 07:43

How times have changed! Flat bottoms will be back "in" soon so don't do anything drastic.

SimonJT · 26/03/2020 07:49

I do weight squats, lunges, fire hydrants, deadlifts and hip thrusts daily to maintain my ‘bubble but’. Just remember it can take 8-12 weeks to see progress where the exercise is designed to build muscle.

Hi I follow Shelley Darlington on youtube. I've grown bigger glutes and have a flatter stomach.

Bluewavescrashing · 26/03/2020 07:56

I have a h uge arse and hips. Can we swap bodies please?!

CodenameVillanelle · 26/03/2020 07:57

Skinny flat bottoms won't be fashionable again. The move towards fitness isn't a fad, because fitness is so beneficial for other reasons, not just looks.
When you look at Kate moss's body in the 90s it's shocking how weak and out of shape she looks. That will never be fashionable again.

DingleberryRose · 26/03/2020 07:59

Squats with heavy weights!

I think you should love the body that you have. A healthy body is one you should be thrilled with. Just take good care of it and love it and enjoy it; stop trying to make it conform to an Instagram trend.

JellyfishandShells · 26/03/2020 08:06

I thought this Kardashian fashion was on the wane ?

I do have a friend with a very pert and rounded bottom of the non-exaggerated type and she is a dedicated triathlete. Could be related- could be nature.

AmputatedSoul · 26/03/2020 08:06

@MotherOfAllNameChanges Biscuit

OP I've got a very toned bottom and it's mostly down to squats. I do them anywhere and everywhere. Waiting for the kettle to boil? Squats. As break in your fave TV show? Squats.

Simple as that, it took a couple of months before you could really see a difference but my bottom is now very round and firm Grin

It's worth adding that I do mix it up with lunges and I walk a lot too.

amusedbush · 26/03/2020 10:00

Who in their right mind wants to grow a bigger arse?

That's the "in" shape at the moment. I follow a lot of fitness Instagrammers and they have small waists, toned arms/shoulders/back and thick thighs/round bum.

It looks great but most of them admit that they wear tight gym leggings and pose with their leg behind them to make their bum look ever rounder and perkier in photos.

TheFaerieQueene · 26/03/2020 10:02

What happened to the old worry ‘does my bum look big in this?’

I’ll scuttle back to the 90’s now with my bony but.

Troels · 26/03/2020 10:07

Squats and yoga.

CodenameVillanelle · 26/03/2020 10:32

The kardashian bum is a fake, back-fat-injected parody of a healthy, toned bum.
The 'trend' for being strong and muscular for women won't 'wane'

damnthatanxiety · 26/03/2020 11:43

OatMilkAddict a flat arse was never in. A small butt was but never flat.

damnthatanxiety · 26/03/2020 11:46

People are confusing flat, big, small, fat, round, pert, toned and muscular.

Round, muscular butts with developed glutes are very popular right now. Not giant, rotund, fat arses. At other times, smaller butts were 'in'. But even then it was always a pert, youthful butt, never a flat arse.

fizzybootlace · 26/03/2020 11:52

It's gone out of fashion now but I used to do 2-3 step classes a week and had buns of steel!

Walking up and down stairs a lot is good if stuck at home, and squats and clenches.

willowpatterns · 26/03/2020 11:54

If mine is anything to go by, sit down a lot and eat crisps, cake and biscuits - gravity will do the rest Smile

SeriouslyRetro · 26/03/2020 11:56

Codename Kate Moss looked a gorgeous, youthful, ingenue in the 90s, she still looks great now when you see pictures from that era.

There’s enough room to appreciate different kinds of aesthetic beauty without having to put other women down.

I’m not sure how old you are to have seen cycles of beauty trends coming and going, but there’s always been an ‘in’ look for an era, so don’t be too sure that the cycles might move.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 26/03/2020 11:57

Can people now talk of nothing but the CV virus mother? How dull would that be, if that was all me talked about 24/7 🙄 There is a whole topic related to it, maybe you’d be better off visiting that section.

OP find some videos on you tube and try out so squatting exercises over the next 3 weeks, squats are how one gets a nice arse!

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 26/03/2020 11:59

There are more important things in life than bottoms

IfIWereYou · 26/03/2020 12:08

I do yoga and weights so I don't just concentrate on one particular area. But after about a year ive no bingo wings, abs and I'm getting strong! Which is my goal.

AnotherMurkyDay · 26/03/2020 12:09

My body shape has changed from an inverted triangle, to an apple, to an hour glass in the past few years. I'm expecting to eventually become a pear shape if I continue on the current trajectory.
