So what’s everyone doing to keep fit?

I am just over 50.

3m dog walk in the morning. Very lucky to live rurally and can walk for miles without seeing anyone.

Then when me and daughter finish working from home at 5pm we are doing a 15min beginners workout from YouTube (EmiWong). When we can do it all the way through we will change to some other workout.

Also, at lunchtime she and I walk up and down the stairs 6 times (we’re building up to 10)

Stay safe everyone 💐

I just ate two kit-kats and I had massive cheese on toast this afternoon.

This is not my finest hour. I am even fantasising about ice cream.

ringletsandtwiglets · 25/03/2020 18:18

The Emi Wong workouts are killers!

I've been running around the garden on alternate days- 3.1 miles. On the days in between, I do a 30 min youtube workout video and walk around the house a bit.

Online Zumba and dance.

A colleague has started running some yoga classes so I've been doing these and we did a home workout the other day.

Single leg squats, reverse pull ups, Turkish get ups, dips and shadow boxing.

Grabbner · 25/03/2020 18:32

I’ve been researching exercise bikes. Very tiring :)

PoetLauren · 25/03/2020 18:32

Ive done Joe Wicks for the last three days. Ive gone from never doing formal exercise to that. Im eating considerably less as I'm anxious, concerned about money and haven't actually got much food. If I survive, I think I'll be healthier than I was before it began. Ironically. But, at the moment it feels like a big If.

1066vegan · 25/03/2020 18:32

I'm a primary school teacher.

This week I've walked to work (2 miles), joined in with the half hour Joe Wickes PE lesson in the morning, we've had an hour of PE in the afternoons (I join in with the daily mile - definitely a slow jog rather than a run but at least I haven't had to stop and walk) and then walked home.

My cardio is going well but the ab muscles that are hiding somewhere are definitely disappearing without going to classes at the gym and having an instructor force me to do crunches etc.

QuestionableMouse · 25/03/2020 18:33

Dancing in the kitchen while drying the pots.

Running up and down the stairs.

I'd been doing really well with fitness and weight loss before this and I want to keep going.

I have access to a private field so I might start running in there. Dog will have to come with me for his exercise.

BigBairyHollocks · 25/03/2020 18:40

Joe Wicks and bouncing on the trampoline.More exercise than normal.

LoveFameTragedy · 25/03/2020 18:42

Joe Wicks and walking the dog. Keep meaning to add a yoga with Adriene but never quite fit it in. Blush

Rewy · 25/03/2020 19:20

Joe wicks and walking the dog.
I can barely sit on the toilet Grin

midsomermurderess · 25/03/2020 20:02

I go out for a bike ride for about 30 mins. I'm not hanging out anywhere with other people, just whoosh by.

I’m just getting fat, can’t stop eating, I’m one of those people who has go go to a gym and do a class with a instructor (spin) I just have no discipline. I usual go hill walking with my husband again I would not bother on my own.

It’s only day two and I am feeling fat, I have done a faire it of deep cleaning today but have just grazed all day!!

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 25/03/2020 20:11

1 hour dog walk first thing followed by 30- minute Leslie Sansome walking for fitness workout in the afternoon. Puts me at over 10,000 steps each day (sometimes more than 12,000 depending on the dog walk).

ShowOfHands · 25/03/2020 20:11

I've run every day for 10 days, usually between 8 and 12k each day. I live rurally and see nobody. I also do HIIT workouts, bodyweight exercises, pull ups, core strength and I ride my unicycle round the garden! I've done Joe Wicks each day too.

Phillipa12 · 25/03/2020 20:24

Joe Wickes in the morning and weight training in the evening with Coach K and Claudia from Hasfiit (you tube).

DonPablo · 25/03/2020 20:26

Joe Wicks. Who knew? I love him. And gardening. Lots and lots of gardening.

CeliaCanth · 25/03/2020 20:29

Running as my Government-sanctioned outdoor exercise and a bit of Joe Wicks indoors. His PE sessions are fun but I’m finding him a bit of a knob.

PapsofJura · 25/03/2020 20:32

An early morning run when there is no one around. It’s keeping me sane.

Troels · 25/03/2020 20:32

I'm doing my Zumba classes on Zoom.
We usually walk a lot on top of that but haven't been going as far as we used to. Staying very local and a loop around the village.

Unescorted · 25/03/2020 20:36

Government sanctioned running here too - I have an incentive to add a bit more on every couple of days. And gardening - who knew weeding would be so appealing. Although I nearly cleaned the oven today.

TawnyPippit · 25/03/2020 20:36

The LesMills on Demand app looks pretty good (I do Bodypump and Body Balance at the gym). You get a 14 days free trial and then I think it was £30 for 3 months which felt pretty reasonable, but I think they may be extending the trial period or giving you more for free or something in light of current situation. There is a lot of options available - eg their versions of HIIT and Zumba and workouts of different lengths. I've also rigged up my TRX in the garden. So just need to do it!

hannabarbera · 25/03/2020 20:59

Walk or run every day.

But i do that anyway not because of this virus.

shinynewapple2020 · 25/03/2020 21:23

I don't normally do a great deal of exercise- just short dog walks and weekly Pilates class. Continuing with the Pilates as it's being done with online link and taking dog out for longer walks, partly due to nicer weather but mainly as no commute means I have an extra couple of hours in the day and am far less tired. May add an extra home workout or dance to some music when DH is out of the way.
