Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Yes Rousette you are right and for what it's worth you do seem very Thigh to me by criteria of 'no judgement' and 'all welcome' ! Grin

We have been posting silly threads (we call Thighland) for the past year and all who wanted to join in did so. We stopped a bit ago because we moved everyone who was with us at that time to Whats App so that we could post photos, songs and private stuff as well.

We came back because of a thread started in '30 days only' asking for our return for the purpose of boosting morale during the current times, it's still there.

We are silly and we are not for everyone but everyone is welcome to join us if they do like us.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 30/03/2020 09:15

On the topic of cooking, I'm considering a stew to use up bits of veg etc, which I can then freeze.

My seeds are coming today!

MinnieMountain · 30/03/2020 09:17

I was too busy thinking of when I can justify another slice of cake to think of posting the recipe. Hand on heart and and cross my eyes, it won't happen again.

That homity pie looks delicious.

We can say the other C word though, can't we? Cat cat cat cat.

HairyDogsOfThigh · 30/03/2020 09:31

And 'cunt'! Suddenly that's not the forbidden 'c' word Grin

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 30/03/2020 09:34

No we can say Cunt, Cat and Cake Dog and also Curtains if we want and Clap.

As per, "Just to warn you, I have got a strong dose of the 'Clap' right now!"

ErrolTheDragon · 30/03/2020 09:39

Maybe a more thigh-ish separate thread on this board might be an idea, and keep MNs pinned thread nice and free from scatalogical and suchlike humour? so I won't ask how you got that while socially distancingGrin

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 30/03/2020 09:55

Well I did put it to them Errol, but we have one running in 30 days only, and we only have one pair of Thighs each y'know! I only came here to post my fish and chat about seeds n shizz. I won't indulge in any scat talk here I promise.

In answer to the question you didn't ask ... It is always with me, just like the thorce!

As you were

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2020 09:59

the version I know has "10s a bird you must not miss".

You watched too much tv as a child, Seagulls Grin

I couldn't find the rest of the crow one, so I've made one up.

Five for a blessing/ six for a curse/ seven for a tragedy/ eight for something worse/ nine for a prophecy which ten will fulfil / eleven for a chase and twelve for a kill.

I thought the darkness went okay with crows. (Even better with ravens)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2020 10:04

Thank you Rousette - I haven't got goat's cheese, but I've got a jar of sundried tomatoes and some celery and some cheddar (cheddar is versatile).

I'll give it a go.

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:06

I’ve stopped posting on here because it seems to have branched off into something where posters are sharing ‘in’ words and jokes and I have not the faintest clue what they’re on about. It started off as a genuine haven for CV chat but feels like it has headed off somewhere else. I do think it would be good if this thread could go back to feeling inclusive of everyone who would like a bit of a rest from all things CV.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2020 10:06

Oh - and I don't think we're clique-y.

As someone said, a lot of us know each other online, so there do tend to be "in-jokes", but we're happy to explain them to anyone who is puzzled, nd attach a link to appropriate threads - and we are like a family. Sometimes we fall out a little bit, but then we make up again.

Very rarely someone falls out a lot. Such is life. Sad, but there you are.

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:06

Non CV chat I meant!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2020 10:11

I knew what you meant Snake.

I don't know many people on this particular thread either, but I've been on this forum a long time, and take offence at nothing. Grin

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:11

I don’t have a clue what ‘thigh’ is. I don’t want to have in jokes from another thread explained to me or be included in the group that uses them. I would just like a thread that is open to all without the need to have ‘in’ things explained. I think perhaps we need another non CV thread for people who don’t want to be absorbed into an existing group of posters.

Davros · 30/03/2020 10:15

errolthedragon lifesaver! Thank you so much. Have this x

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:19

I’ve been on here over 10 years. I’m not offended. I just don’t see the need for an established group of posters from another thread to band together with their in jokes and topics on this one.

theoriginalmadambee · 30/03/2020 10:21

@SnakePlant i do agree with you Smile.

That apart can any of you explain the superstition about magpies? Some seem to salute them.

And finally perhaps of interest to noone but my lovely ruccula/rocket despite our frosty nights Smile.

Welcome to the no corona zona
Twenty2 · 30/03/2020 10:27

You realise you can totally ignore what people post, don't you? It's possible to have more than one discussion on a thread like this and not get involved with stuff you're not interested in. I couldn't give a shiny shit about the music that was posted here, but I've been enjoying the other chat.

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 30/03/2020 10:36

What part of 1970s music, seeds, photographs of pets and recipes are cliquey and in jokes? Asking for a friend.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/03/2020 10:37

Perhaps we'd better unofficially declare this also a no in-joke zone? It's a place of refuge and I'm sure no one wants to inadvertently wind anyone else up.

A pair of buzzards just flew over my garden!Smile I shall away to the Nature Notes thread adjacent ... and also I just did my first ever yoga vid .

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:37

theoriginalmadambee you might need to rig an alarm system up round your salad leaves. It’s not easy getting hold of fresh fruit and veg and you don’t want someone uprooting it in the dead of night . My friend salutes magpies. I will ask her why she does it and who told her it was a necessary thing to do.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 30/03/2020 10:37

Thank you Twenty, appreciate your kind words, the music was requested by a lady upthread who was turning 50 during the lock down. I tried to give her a bit of fun for her birthday, I did not know that only 'some people' could post on here. Glad I never left her to it though.

Nobody had to click on the links, they were just some 70s tunes to cheer someone up in tough times.

I now feel really unwelcome on a 'Welcome' thread thanks to some unkind posters. Not sure what they get out of it, they could easily carry on posting their own conversations without driving other people out of the thread, but I'll put it down to the stressful times. I'll leave you to it now, was good to interact with the nice people.

Still am sending good wishes and strength to every single poster no matter what's been said, and to everyone else too x

SnakePlant · 30/03/2020 10:41

errol Thanks for that. I see that Thighland is a thread started a year ago. That explains it a bit. But maybe things that are particular to that thread could remain on it and this one not sort of be a group within a group .

Twenty2 · 30/03/2020 10:47

DanglyTassles, see, I didn't mind the music at all, though it's not to my tastes, as a grown-up I am capable of picking out things I do like and leaving the rest. As you say, no one had to click on the links and that's exactly what I didn't do! I appreciated the humour, and the camaraderie though! Join in, or don't join in, just don't be a twat to people who do like that sort of stuff Hmm

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/03/2020 10:55

Some seem to salute them

Saluting a solitary magpie is said to avert the bad luck.

It need not be a military salute - a salute can be a polite acknowledgement. The traditional one is to touch your cap and say "Good morning your lordship, and how is her ladyship?", but I am told that waving and saying "Hello. Mr Magpie>" is equally effective (or not)

I am a traditionalist, myself.
