Welcome to the no corona zona

Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 28/03/2020 23:48

Thrusting is tho generous Thigh

HairyDogsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 00:25

You totally deserve to win Thigh, yours was by far the best entry, (even if you didn't actually submit an entry).

lms2017 · 29/03/2020 09:31

I never thought I would find poo picking my horses fields enjoyable Grin

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 09:47

Dog, Thigh** already won before she even entered!

Tho talented!

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 09:49

Ims poo picking sounds like fun!

I must go and buy a horse! Will Amazon deliver? 🐎

lms2017 · 29/03/2020 09:52

PM me your address you can have mine !!! ...

What about a toddler any takers?.... x

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 10:37

Oh thank you Ims, I shall look forward to the post now!

Sadly I cannot take the toddler as I will be too busy poo picking in future!

HairyDogsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 12:03

Ims are you sending Dangly the horse, or just the poo? I feel we should manage her expectations.

Genderwitched · 29/03/2020 12:11

It’s been snowing here this morning in London. What a surreal world we are living in. Although thinking about it my Dd was born 21 years ago in the second week of August and it was snowing as we took her home from hospital.

The sun’s now out and little chaffinches are flying about.

Bananabixfloof · 29/03/2020 12:24

What about a toddler any takers
Umm oddly, yes. I love little kids, not so keen when they grow up. So send a few littlies my way, I can keep them occupied for quite some time.
Unless you meant permanently? In which case I'll be shattered after a week and sending them back or onto some other mug.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 12:42

Ok here's my position:

I'll have the poo, 💩 but would prefer the horse 🐎

I don't want the toddler unless it's just cute photos and no movement required in my part!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/03/2020 12:57

We have had snow and hail and a bitter wind coming straight from the steppes, by the feel of it, Genderwitched!

And two delightful little cock sparrows, so full of themselves, gobbling up the bread on my birdtable - they look so theological in their black hats and brilliant white "dog-collars" - like two off-duty curates out on the lash. Grin

Also - TWO magpies!

I've seen millions of many magpies lately, but they've all been lone ones (no surprises there) - about time we had two for joy. Last year there were flocks of the buggers - the rhyme didn't go far enough!

A belated happy birthday LeeLu, had an early night so missed all the party fun. I went to see Boney M play last month, they are still great.

BunnyFlop Sarah Raven seeds are excellent, I have plants grown from her seeds from several years ago. Can I also suggest Jekka’s Herb Farm seeds. They are very good, I had sturdy plants of borage all last summer grown from her seeds.

Davros · 29/03/2020 14:07

I'm looking for a thread that was about good (board) games to play for two people and I can't find it. Can anyone point me to it?
And happy birthday for yesterday 🎂

ErrolTheDragon · 29/03/2020 14:33

I think someone on the gardening thread on this board said Sarah raven was out of seeds (but obviously check). Thompson and Morgan still have 'easy' seeds thank goodness, I only got around to ordering this morning as I'd been hoping my local nursery could operate in some way.

DanglyTasselsOfThigh · 29/03/2020 15:03

I'm hoping for my seeds on Monday.

Am collecting supermarket packaging from blueberry's etc to use as seed trays. I though to use cling film to propagate at first?

SoupDragon · 29/03/2020 15:21

I popped the tray with my pepper seeds into a freezer bag. I can use it for another tray later.

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 29/03/2020 15:56

My local Sainsburys had a new delivery of flower and veg seeds yesterday so worth checking in supermarkets. Lettuces and Courgettes, huzzah.

BooseysMom · 29/03/2020 18:52

@YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh.. Love Boney M. They played Ra Ra Rasputin on the radio today Grin. I requested Ma Baker for my 40th birthday night out. Everyone loved it.. even the teens were up dancing!

MinnieMountain · 29/03/2020 19:53

I suppose we could swap the children around. 6 year old who asks the meaning of every single word anyone?

I have discovered a new cake- apple desert cake. It's amazing. DH says desert cake is a tautology. DH rarely eats cake, so knows nothing.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/03/2020 19:56

On another thread I came across a tip for if anyone wants to feel like they're being followed around by a curious small child

mashable.com/article/bbc-science-magazine-push-alerts/?europe=true

Bananabixfloof · 29/03/2020 21:43

@MinnieMountain, so you brag about new cakes, but no recipe? What kind of mner even are you?
I thought MN was all about the recipes!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 29/03/2020 22:07

What is it with magpies?
Obviously a cultural reference I know nothing about.
We have a pair of wood pigeons and a pair of magpies nesting in the wisteria.
