Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Can I just come here to tell you I'm getting a puppy in 6 weeks? I'm so excited about him that I want to do a little dance but we all have to be quite sensible now so I'm having to keep it bottled up! I have planned him for months and months, tracking the antics of a gorgeous stud dog and where his ahem girlfriends were and finally - a litter with boy pups has arrived. I'm so excited!! I'm choosing his name at the moment. My DH really wants to tell me we shouldn't do it but he knows how much this means to me, so he is holding back. Once pup is here he will adore it, I know that.

I've tried Sarah Raven for bulbs, Bunny, and they are really good. Their catalogue is lovely, I agree!

Bunnyflop · 28/03/2020 12:19

@totallydevoidofideas hooray for your puppy! 🐶

I’m glad you are reporting the Sarah raven stuff is good- I’ll get on the website now.

totallydevoidofideas · 28/03/2020 12:20

Thank you, Bunny! Good luck with your order. I think planting is a lovely thing to be doing at the moment. I shan't bother because I'm going to have a puppy digging soon!

GuyFawkesDay · 28/03/2020 12:23

Sarah Raven aren't taking orders for veg seeds or growing lot at the moment.

Plants, bulbs yes but with longer lead times.

I find them excellent.

Roussette · 28/03/2020 12:38

Oooh I'm going to make rice pudding, love it.

Here are the alpacas again from my walk.

Davros · 28/03/2020 12:52

jimbob63 I think you're on the wrong section of MN. Doh!
Love those alpacas 🦙

Genderwitched · 28/03/2020 13:17

OMG those alpacas, you see them everyday?

I am actually really jealous, I love them. Please post pictures regularly.

TSSDNCOP · 28/03/2020 13:29

If you all turn on R2 we can sing along to Mandy by Barry M!!

Lovely!

Puppies are a delight!

(A stinky, widdley, destructive, heart-meltingly gorgeous delight)

Roussette · 28/03/2020 14:21

@Genderwitched
Yes, they're on my favourite walk and I walk every day. I've already posted these before but here they are again

I find them quite comical in a nice way Smile

Oh I want a growing shed roof.
When I can be arsed to move I've got red and purple sunflower seeds to put somewhere. Now googling grow mats. I had plans for a cherry tree but dont know if that's gonna happen now.
This cherry tree which is unavailable now en-gb.bakker.com/products/dual-cherry-tree-potted?channable=e46049.NjMyMjI&gclid=CjwKCAjw7uPqBRBlEiwAYDsr15NjyXBcfsOSpaTAKJDMazjP4NokzOAlcYsjpznAmZkEyrOuzxkK6RoCHHgQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Sigh. It would look fab in my garden too.

Genderwitched · 28/03/2020 14:54

Oh delightful, thank you.

Yes they look a bit like they are smiling which makes them so cheerful to look at, and quite spiritual and peaceful. Unlike dolphins which seem to have cornered the market in spiritual but are actually evil, by all accounts Smile

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/03/2020 17:24

Dolphins are pretty mean, despite their good press. Go in for gang rape, as I understand it.

LJenn · 28/03/2020 17:47

Aaaaaaah this topic has breathed some life back in to me again. Well done everyone 😂😂. Currently waiting on my Chinese to come... I am starving 😍😍😍😍👅.

TSSDNCOP · 28/03/2020 18:02

Dolphins are incredibly well organised, and. their PR agency earns every penny but Its all predicated on global conspiracy to keep the Seals down.

Seals rock.

pippishortsocks · 28/03/2020 18:15

"On the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. (Douglas Adams)

totallydevoidofideas · 28/03/2020 18:40

Schadenfreudepersonified - I'm prepared, don't worry! My last dog had to be put to sleep last summer so this is a big step to do it all over again. It is planning to have another member of the family, basically. Not something I would do lightly. Dh said he couldn't go through it again, but I can't live that way!

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 28/03/2020 18:54

MNHQ, how about a competition for the cutest photo on this thread? I would like to place a vote for the tropical fish please as they are awesome. (I don’t know the person who posted that photo from Adam)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/03/2020 19:01

I agree totallydevoidofideas - when we had no dog, the house felt so empty . . . neither of us could stand it!

A competition? The fish may be in a league (and indeed a tank) of their own but surely it's got to be the sausage dog and I'm totally not cheating hereWink

LEELULUMPKIN · 28/03/2020 21:52

I am 50 today. I should have been eating dinner on a beach a long way a way.

Instead I am watching celebrity bake off and drinking bailey's.

The worst thing is not being able to see my family.

Happy Birthday to anyone else who is here!! Join my virtual partay!!!
