Tell me what you are thankful for today

I thought it would be nice to spread some positivity. We may all be stuck in lockdown, but there is so much we have to be thankful for. Picking something each we are thankful for might help keep our spirits up.

Today I am thankful for the sunshine, it means I can get out in the garden with the LO and burn off some energy safely.

What are you thankful for and why?

Seeing this today made me feel grateful, such a beautiful sunny day.

Yes, also very thankful we have the internet and phones so we never have to feel completely alone, also online books, activities, recipes, fitness videos, music etc. Netflix, Sky cinema. So much to see and do without leaving the house.

Grateful to have a warm comfortable home and a family I love and get along with (Ask me again in a couple weeks though...!).
Grateful that we (family) will cope. Might not like it much, but will be fine in the end.
Glad that the natural world continues around us and we are healthy enough to appreciate it.

I generally hate using the phone to keep up with friends (social anxiety, even with my closest friends of decade I panic that I’ll have nothing to say and shut down completely) but all of my friends have started doing video calls with each other so I’ve had to get on board. If this virus gets me over my awkwardness using the phone it will be one tiny bit of good that comes of it.

A proper chicken dinner (at last!) and hugs from my girls whilst we binged on Malory Towers (iPlayer) and forgot all the dramas for a while. Wonderful.

The sunshine
Our large garden
The fact that 3yo DS has so far been happy and content with staying at home (pleasant surprise)
Spending more time with DH and DS
Not feeling pressure to DO lots - letting go and accepting we can't

Today is the first day that I've felt ok since last Monday's announcement. It's been a really tough week of feeling shocked and depressed and trying to get my head around it. I think I've managed to accept it now. I'm sure it will be tough but it feels doable whereas it didn't before.

That my children, though bored are safe!
That the sun is shining and we can use the garden.
That my lovely students now have access to an email address and can contact me whenever they need to.
That whilst working in a school my boss has given us a rota so we can juggle being at work and working from home fairly.
That I’m staying positive I can get some toilet roll somewhere this week!( I felt sorry for my elderly neighbours and gave them ours 🙈)

Today I'm thankful for technology, me and my LO have been in isolation for around a week. We have video called different people all day to try keep in contact. It is difficult having no adult company, but needs must.

Next week I will have adult company as I'm back at work (A&E nurse so essential worker) and as much as I feel like its going into the lions den, I'm looking forward to the company, and knowing I'm helping people!

That there's technology in place so we can connect with people we can't physically be with
That nature keeps cracking on and giving us a lovely spring
That I decided to get a greenhouse just before this all started
That I bought a six-pack of kitchen roll weeks ago...

Sunshine and spring.
Our garden.
My lovely DP, who is juggling WFH with helping to entertain our very unsettled DC1.
Not being pregnant (DC2 was born in January and I really wouldn’t fancy giving birth in the next month or so).
My chocolate stash.
Our lovely neighbours - we can chat over the fence while social distancing.
Technology!
