I have just enjoyed a packet of Lidl mini cheese bakes, which are their version of mini Cheddars. OH MY GOD they are so much nicer than Cheddars. More baked, less greasy, just more savoury and yum.

Anyone else enjoy a budget version more than the real thing?

I prefer Aldi Jive Bars to Twix. They're delicious

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 18/03/2020 22:13

Ooh! I've never even seen them - I like a Twix.

Asda salted caramel icecream is so much nicer than Carte Dor.

PrettyLittleLiar20 · 18/03/2020 22:15

Aldi’s yoghurts are so much nicer than muller! Especially the crunch corner ones. They’re more thick! Mmmmmmmm

Clawdy · 18/03/2020 22:23

Co-op hummus is nicer than the posh ones.

Mollypolly2610 · 18/03/2020 22:45

I don’t eat it but my DH said Aldi tins of Macaroni Cheese are far superior to Heinz

Horsemad · 18/03/2020 23:23

DS prefers Asda budget Jaffa cakes to McVities.

HarrietThePi · 19/03/2020 00:45

I prefer Sainsbury's chocolate digestives to mcvities. I think Tesco's are decent too.

PawPawNoodle · 19/03/2020 01:15

A very niche one - I use the all-in-one solution by Boots rather than the Bio True that they tried to make me buy, because it is literally the exact same item made by the same manufacturer in the same factory, but for a few quid cheaper (even more when I get my 10% discount)

UYScuti · 19/03/2020 01:21

Sainsbury's brand oatcakes that's my one, waaay better than the branded ones😊

Bluesheep8 · 19/03/2020 07:23

Aldi Titan bars - better than Mars bars
Primark perfume - better than Jo Malone
Aldi malted wheaties - better than shreddies.....

Bluesheep8 · 19/03/2020 07:24

Aldi black pepper crackers - better than any others I've tried

adaline · 19/03/2020 07:32

ALDI Norpak butter is much nicer than Lurpak and about a third of the price!

Hotwaterbottlelove · 19/03/2020 07:51

The Spa fresh four cheese pizza is way better than the pizza express one they also sell.

BestZebbie · 19/03/2020 08:02

Tesco knock-off after eights are nicer than the real thing and have a lot less packaging, though you do get fewer per box.

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 19/03/2020 08:34

Ooh these are all great suggestions Grin

Lidl Jaffa cakes!!

Asda Smart price ginger nuts - much more snappy and gingery than McVities or Fox biccies

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 19/03/2020 19:04

Just having some Co-op hummus, it really is great 🤩

Sainsburys cheese curls instead of Quavers. Bought some Quavers recently because they were on offer and they had no flavour compared to the own brand!

okletsdothis · 19/03/2020 19:14

Sainsbury's prawn cocktail crisps, much more flavour than Walkers
Tesco's tomato soup, nicer than Heinz and so much cheaper

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 19/03/2020 19:14

Any supermarket cereal is better than the Kellogg’s one it is copying. Kellogg’s are horrifically sweet, even the ones that are trying to look healthy.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 19/03/2020 19:17

I'll second the Sainsburys prawn cocktail crisps miles better than any other branded or supermarket own brand.
I also prefer their steak ridged crisps to McCoys.
Finally Sainsburys own brand jar pesto is the best ever.

TrickyD · 19/03/2020 19:54

Lidl Bounties-that-are-better-than-Bounties.

MulticolourMophead · 19/03/2020 19:57

Aldi do a version of Ritz crackers. They are much nicer,as well as cheaper.

Afonavon · 19/03/2020 20:12

Aldi’s Benefit cereal is way nicer than Special K. And it is a bargain99p. We wouldn’t swap it even if Special K was the same price. Aldi/Lidl chocolate so much nicer than branded chocolate. I also prefer cheap beans to Heinz. I was brought up on cheap beans though, so taste buds prefer them and their firmer texture.I find Heinz mushy (and disgusting).
