I have just enjoyed a packet of Lidl mini cheese bakes, which are their version of mini Cheddars. OH MY GOD they are so much nicer than Cheddars. More baked, less greasy, just more savoury and yum.

Anyone else enjoy a budget version more than the real thing?

Why did I start this thread?? I live nowhere near a Lidl/Aldi. The only reason I had some Lidl goodies was because I was visiting my mum, and I won't be at hers for a while Sad

I'm dying to try all those delicious treats 🤩

Lidl Jaffa cakes. Aldi oatcakes. Tesco tomato relish. Tesco's cheapest range is Stockwell, I've tried the baked beans and the mushy peas, for the money, they're more than fine (22p and 19p respectively), especially if you add a dollop of relish/chutney to the beans.

I much prefer economy baked beans, the sauce is far less sweet and cloying. I jazz them up with herbs, garlic, barbecue sauce or whatever else is lying around.

We all prefer Sainsbury's diet cola to Coke or Pepsi.

Most of them tbh.

Asda's own brand smoked haddock fish cakes are lovely, much nicer than the Birds Eye or Find us ones.

Findus! Not Find us.

Aldi cream crackers are the best. And any supermarket basic tortilla chips are much better for making nachos than the posh ones.

I second the Tesco tomato soup, richer and tangier than Heinz.

M and S Jaffa cakes are so good and imo much better than the original.
