I'm not going to get a wink of sleep tonight. Anyone else?

The wind is howling, DH is snoring his lead off, DD is moaning in her sleep, and DS(3) has been coughing and coughing, and doing this alarming thing where he sounds like he's choking on his snot. He's been at it.since 11pm, he's had his inhaler, saline nasal spray, nothing else for it but he just can't get settled. My alarm is set for 5.20am to get me up for work. It's going to be a long day...

Sorry to hear that

I live on a high floor and the wind is fierce even though there weren’t really any warnings, or maybe I missed them!

Hope you do get some kip.

Inkpaperstars · 12/03/2020 01:01

I've just shifted DP onto his other side because I was wondering if the loud crashing and banging from the flat above might be a response to his snoring...

Hope you have dozed off OP

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 01:06

Ink, I can hear the guy next door snoring but the walls are thin
My dad used to shake the house with his snoring!

High winds and next doors wind chimes are keeping me awake Hmm

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 01:12

Wind chimes bug me.

MuddyPuddlesAndPrettyBubbles · 12/03/2020 01:14

I can just about hear the neighbour's wind chimes over the snoring and the wind. Bloody awful things.

Famous last words but DS appears to finally be settling down to some restful sleep... I might get 4 hours if I'm lucky...

I am up batch cooking and trying to get on top of my massive pile of washing.

I feel like it's multiplying. I seem to have a magical, bottomless wash basket.

AutumnRose1 · 12/03/2020 02:02

Glenda, you sound like you’re running a boarding school!

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/03/2020 02:15

I only have two children, a husband, and a cat.

If I ran a boarding school it would end up as a large, smoking crater within a week.

Frownette · 12/03/2020 02:15

I've got the news blues, I've read too much today

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/03/2020 02:21

My mum was in the same situation earlier, Frownette.

It's too much.

Do you enjoy reading? I told my mum to turn off her laptop and TV, dim the lights and read her Kindle for a few hours.

Give yourself a break.

Hangingtrousers · 12/03/2020 02:25

DH is away... Wind blowing and freaking the house and I'm alone with a house full of children. 2 keep waking up. 😴😴😴

Frownette · 12/03/2020 02:38

Glenda I'll stop reading the online papers :)

A cop of tea and finger of fudge should make me sleepy.

Hope all your bath cooking etc goes well

Frownette · 12/03/2020 02:39

BATCH autocorrect Angry

Inkpaperstars · 12/03/2020 02:40

Ha, funny you should say that @AutumnRose1 because the people upstairs are obviously doing a wash and the spin cycle has had all the racks in our oven rattling and shaking.

Lauracrazygirl · 12/03/2020 02:46

Same here,

I'm 33 weeks pregnant so I'm not getting the best sleep these days because I need to use the loo all the time.
But tonight up here in Scotland, we are having thunder snow. Which I have to admit is very pretty but it's very noisy.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/03/2020 02:51

I have enough bolognese simmering to fit in a bath right now. :o

I promise your rattling is not from me, Ink.

Vix20678 · 12/03/2020 02:52

I'm up too. DH snoring and my poor Dad died suddenly last weekend so sleep is evasive for me right now anyway. Sad

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/03/2020 02:57

I'm so sorry Vix.

Roll snorey on his side and pop a pillow under him.

Vix20678 · 12/03/2020 02:58

@GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou I might kick him out of bed in a minute!!! Grin

corvidsagainstcovid · 12/03/2020 03:00

Same here. Added to which our extremely inconsiderate neighbours have an insanely bright light like a photography floodlight which they leave on in their conservatory all night every night.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 12/03/2020 03:03

Then pop some pillows on the floor, Vix.

He probably won't wake up from a good kick with a soft landing.

OccasionalNachos · 12/03/2020 03:04

Noisy snow here too @Lauracrazygirl.

I have been feeding and cuddling 5 week old DS since 8:30pm, but he screams each time I put him down Sad he has just done a huge nappy so hopefully that was the issue and next time will be the charm. Fingers crossed.

Elderflower14 · 12/03/2020 03:08

My late DH used to snore terribly. We stayed in a Travelodge one night... Oh my days he was terrible. I poked, prodded, kicked, shook, rolled him over... Nothing worked... I was seething... Fast forward to 8am DH woke up and was most alarmed as I was nowhere to be seen.... "Darling?.... Darling..... DARLING WHERE ARE YOU???...". "I'm here
...!!!"
He found me in the bath with all the spare bedding off the top of the wardrobe!!!
