Spy mission, football, dinner out, adventure playground
Lego, books, clothes, football related items (blanket, bedding, clothes etc)

TwoZeroTwoZero · 11/03/2020 18:38

We went to a museum related to his interest at the time. Because it's quite far away from where we live we made a day of it and spent quite a lot of time in that city. Gift wise he got some books related to this interest, some money and some clothes.

QuixoticQuokka · 11/03/2020 18:44

Go Ape with a friend. I bought him a Lego Technic set. It was the last year he got Lego.

QuixoticQuokka · 11/03/2020 18:45

No, actually that was his 7th, 8th was laser tag.

Stompythedinosaur · 11/03/2020 20:02

We did a Harry Potter party - dressed the house up as Hogwarts and did a bunch of pretend lessons and played quidditch, then had a mission for the kids to do (it was for a dd but had boys there and was enjoyed by all).

VenusClapTrap · 11/03/2020 20:07

We are thinking of booking an escape room type place. Bit pricey though. Present-wise, probably books.

preponderings · 11/03/2020 20:14

Chocolate factory visit I think. Either that or slime.
Lego, board games and science kits as gifts.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 11/03/2020 20:18

DD camped out in the garden with 3 friends. Then the next day we went to the town outdoor pool for a picnic.

Summer birthday!

wonkylegs · 11/03/2020 20:20

DS had a science party - company came to us and did a whole load of age appropriate and silly experiments and brought white coats and goggles etc for the kids as well as all the equipment
We just sorted the food and party bags
It was very very well received by all the kids and quite easy to organise which was good because I had a newborn as well at the same time.
Present wise we had lots of books, some football stuff, cinema tickets, chemistry set

Stompythedinosaur · 11/03/2020 20:20

Present-wise I think she got a big Lego set (one of the Harry Potter ones), a Stickbot animation kit and books.

wonkylegs · 11/03/2020 20:21

Oh and loads of lego

EnglishRose1320 · 11/03/2020 20:24

Ds had a mario themed party with about 8-10 friends.

Present wise we changed his room overnight whilst he slept- carried him into our bed, quickly put up new curtains/duvet cover, pictures on the wall/clock etc and then carried him back and he woke up the next morning to a completely different looking room.
Also got him some books, Lego and stickman animation set.

LER83 · 11/03/2020 20:29

Went to Legoland for the day. Can't really remember presents, think he got an itunes voucher, some roblox toys, books, lego.

thismeansnothing · 11/03/2020 20:44

I have a DD who's just turned 8. But she went trampolining with a couple of friends and free range on the cafe menu for lunch.

As for presents she got some Bluetooth headphones for her tablet. And Gravitrax which has been a Big hit

Bugbeau · 11/03/2020 21:12

We had a trampolining party at airhop. He got harry potter lego, pikachu lets go for his switch and an arsenal kit.

Figgygal · 11/03/2020 21:14

We did a class disco for his party
He’s been told that’s his last big party

For gifts he got a new full football kit and set of beast quest books.

Bunchofkeys · 11/03/2020 21:19

Mine has had his today Smile
He’s had a new scooter and a little ramp for the garden and gravitrax from us.
Clothes, football things and scalectrix from family.
He’s not into games consoles yet.
Laser quest party with his friends at the weekend.

Pascha · 11/03/2020 21:21

Karting, and I can't remember the present. It could have been a RC buggy or maybe lego.

fartyface · 11/03/2020 21:27

Bowling.

Those magnetty things, books on how to draw, a rubix cube.

Girl if that makes a difference

OneIsAWorldOfBooks · 11/03/2020 21:30

Mine is 8 in a couple of months. I would do him a party but we’re moving and not sure which area we will be living in on his birthday. Last year he had a pizza party at pizza express which he loved.

I was going to book legoland but since rewatching the Peter rabbit movie DS has announced that all he wants for his birthday is to pick a toy from harrods. So now thinking it’ll be an overnight trip to London, can’t get tickets for the Harry Potter studios unfortunately so might so the cursed child at the theatre and the natural history museum (obsessed since watching night at the museum).

Present-wise he’s mentioned a Harry Potter wizards chess set and an expansion pack for his hexbugs. I will probably get him a nerf gun he’s been wanting and some stickbot things. Not sure what else. For Christmas he had loads of Harry Potter stuff and a new bike.
