I've been reduced to a blubbering wreck in Sainsbury's

Went to get some shopping, DS1 (10) asked for his wallet which has his pocket money in and disappeared to the checkout. When I caught up with him he presented me with these beauties and said they were 'for being the best mummy ever'.

Aw, that's the sort of thing that can carry you through dark times, how lovely!

handbagsatdawn33 · 08/03/2020 18:28

When my son was about 5 he went to the local florist - they sold him a tomato plant for Mothers' Day !

JamesNesbittsBrows · 08/03/2020 18:29

That's lovely

TheFaerieQueene · 08/03/2020 18:31

What a lovely thing to do.

bpirockin · 08/03/2020 18:47

Aww, what a lovely gesture - remember this if you ever doubt how well you're doing as a mother.

Rainb0w · 08/03/2020 18:48

I hope my neice one day meets a young man (or woman) that is as well brought up as your son.

SnickettyLemon · 08/03/2020 18:49

Peterpan Of course you are entitled to your opinion, but why the fook are you even on MN?

SignOnTheWindow · 08/03/2020 18:49

What a thoughtful wee thing your son is!

That spiteful poster could learn a lot from him.

ssd · 08/03/2020 19:00

There's something wrong with the world when a poster posts something nice about their kid and another poster accuses them if stealth boasting.

sqirrelfriends · 08/03/2020 19:02

Aww, this is so sweet. You've obviously done a fantastic job.

FourDecades · 08/03/2020 19:02

OMG so you were just being a Negative Nelly afterall @PeterPanGoesWrong.

How horrid.... and unnecessary.....on such a lovely thread

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/03/2020 19:03

Mitsouko67 · 08/03/2020 19:12

What a joy!
Little boys can be just lovely. Our youngest is the same age group and such a treasure.

WorraLiberty · 08/03/2020 19:13

Aww that's lovely OP Grin

I really thought this was going to be about panic buying Blush

Shinycat · 08/03/2020 19:38

@FourDecades

I took @PeterPanGoesWrongcomments in jest as here was a tongue sticking out emoji there.

NOPE, the comments weren't in jest, they were actually being nasty and spiteful. 😜

And MY comments are not in jest! ^

Shinycat · 08/03/2020 19:38

@PeterPanGoesWrong

U OK hun? Sad

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 08/03/2020 19:53

@PeterPanGoesWrong there was nothing stealthy about it.

And no, I wasn't doing it for praise of what a wonderful mother I must be...my 7yo is an absolute horror at the moment, tells me he hates me every day, throws tantrums that would put any 2yo to shame (being assessed for SEN).

I'm actually really struggling with my MH at the moment, and usually feel like I'm the crappest mother ever...so it was lovely for DS to do something like that completely unprompted. But you carry on and piss on my chips if it makes you feel better...but I think it says a lot more about you than me.
