English/ Scottish land border.

I tried to google but just got the history, very interesting, but I want to know in 2020
If you were walking/ driving which is the first town, area, post code etc.

Aw, thank you so much for the replies, I'm a bit crap at reading maps, always struggled.
The names and the directions have really helped. I'd love to move somewhere around there but had no idea of what codes to search.

The borders postcodes are

Carlisle postcodes are CA
Dumfries and Galloway DG
Galashiels TD
and some northumberland NE postcodes

Any particular ideas about where you want to move?

Well there is a linear border so you don’t have to travel by road! You could climb the Cheviots and enter scotland that way. The pennine way also crosses the border. Or further west you leave cumbria and enter Dumfries and Galloway. The history of the whole area is fascinating. It’s also beautiful although I love north England as much as I do southern scotland!

There’s a big sign that every single Scot I have ever met cheers at on the way back into Scotland.

I’m Scottish and used to feel like that. Now I feel depressed - genuinely - due to the fuck up that is the SNP government. They have, quite literally, stolen our flag and tainted it with vile nationalism

I love Scotland and had always felt very welcome here but come 2014 I was forced to remove a lot of so called friends who would say shit like, "They English bastards!" And turn to me and say, "Of course I don't mean you though..."

Marshall Meadows Bay is the most northerly part of mainland England... you drive just past it on the A1 going north.

The Mull of Galloway is the most southern point of mainland Scotland. You’d need to be a strong swimmer to cross that part of the border...

My in-laws live just south of Coldstream and their postcode is TD. Lovely part of the world.
