If your first baby was early, were your second/third too?

Currently 36 weeks with second child. DD1 arrived at 37 weeks on the dot and am finding the waiting game incredibly hard already!

I know that ultimately it just depends on a lot of different factors, but anecdotally did your subsequent children come earlier or later than the first?

Not the case for me. DC2 was 40+3, DC3 was 40+9, but then DC4 was forcibly evicted at 37+6 (caesarean for unstable presentation).

No, first was a bit early, second was 2 weeks late, third 2 weeks late too. Not sure there is any science in predicting birthing dates.

Nope one at 35 weeks and another at 39 for a scheduled section!

1st - 39 weeks.
2nd - 41 weeks.

Yes, three and a half weeks early to the day for first and second child. Even started the same way with the first I knew of Labour was my waters gushing. My third child completely different, went to term and started with contractions.

1st was born 34+5, waters had broke a few days before. 2nd cooked a whole 3 days longer, born at 35+1

All 5 of my children came 10 days late

Went into labour at 38+4 with dc1 and 39 weeks exactly with dc2.

Middle SiL went into labour with dc1 at 36 weeks and 42 with dc2.

38 for ds1, 38.5 for dd and 39 for ds2. As far as I was concerned, ds2 was overdue.

Yes but my second born was encouraged to come early.

Dd was born at 38+4 and ds was 37+3

I had a sweep with ds at 37 weeks and if I’m he didn’t come before 38 weeks, I would have been induced.

He was a tiny 5lb 3oz!

They have been the same ever since. Ds1 always too early for everything, and ds2 always late

Oh dear, I suppose I’ll just have to wait and see (and mentally prepare myself for potentially another 5-6 weeks of pregnancy 😖)

First three were all born at 39 + 1
Fourth was born at 39 +3

I was rubbish at being pregnant - both our DCs were born at 36 weeks. First pregnancy I went into labour at 36 weeks. Second pregnancy I started losing weight and was induced. After 2nd DC was born consultant spoke to me and said if I was planning to have any more DCs, I should speak to him first - we didn’t want anymore, but I often wonder what he would have said.
(This was all 20+ years ago).

DC1: 1wk over (breech)
DC2: due date birth
DC3: 11 days late

Watching with interest! First two were both 39 weeks and I’m currently 39+3 and impatient as I’ve never been pregnant this long 😂

First one at 37 weeks. Second had scheduled c section at 38 weeks and she hung on till then (so might have been even later).

Loved the “forcibly evicted” and “the consultant said if I wanted any more DCs to see him”. Was that an offer? 😂
