@mumsiedarlingrevolta - that's beautiful Flowers

user1471453601 · 22/02/2020 21:30

@knightsinwhitesatin, YNWA is my go to song when things aren't going my way. I only have to think of the Kop singing it to feel their strength with me. Because very few of us ever walk alone.

It's a weird feeling, that 50 thousand people are with you and cheering you on. They've got me through some tough times

happypotamus · 22/02/2020 21:33

Also, The Oil Slick by Frightened Rabbit, for the lyrics
"There is hope but there's a tunnel to crawl through
There is love but its misery loves you
There's still hope so I think we'll be fine
In these disastrous times, disastrous times"

Sometimes hope is all there is left to cling on to as you get through the hard times.

bigbella26 · 22/02/2020 21:39

Frank Sinatra - That's Life.

salsmum · 22/02/2020 21:40

Something inside so strong. When my DH passed away suddenly I chose I'll find my way home by Jon vangelis.

salsmum · 22/02/2020 21:45

Streets of London always makes me feel that maybe things could be worse.

lumpybumpylooloo · 22/02/2020 21:50

I clicked on this to say ‘Rise Up’ by Andra Day, but see you got there first OP!! Beautiful, uplifting song.

Bluewavescrashing · 22/02/2020 21:53

Cheesy, but Five - Get on Up

goldenorbspider · 22/02/2020 21:56

Kesha praying

GetUpAgain · 22/02/2020 21:58

To add to all these great suggestions, these are my pep talk songs:

Tubthumping, Chumbawumba (I get knocked down, but I get up again)

I am the one and only, Chesney Hawkes (uber cheesy)

The Worlds Greatest (boxing type song, thinking about it, it might be by R Kelly so maybe don't play this unless his was a cover and you can find original version)

Also really like Jai Ho for an uplifting song.

Hope all these suggestions help.

Nonstopmum9 · 22/02/2020 22:00

Alecia keys not even a king Thanks

ToEarlyForDecorations · 22/02/2020 22:03

Something inside so strong - Laba Sifre

I'll find my way home - Vangelis (especially the lyric, 'I'll say it starts at the end)

I agree with these. For me, my song is, 'Learning how to fall' by Bon Jovi (I think) when I accept I need to be humble in the face of defeat.

#Next to me' was playing on the radio as I was driving home from an unsuccessful job interview and I had this overwhelming need to see my husband. It was lunchtime and I asked if he could have his lunchbreak from work in a café nearby his work. He agreed and I just felt better after a hug and a chat with him during his lunchbreak.

TweaksDadsHat · 22/02/2020 22:04

I know it hurts - Alter Bridge

The words clicked with me and I learned to get through my panic attacks, then not 'panic' when I got them, and then not get them!

ParkheadParadise · 22/02/2020 22:08

You'll never walk alone- Gerry and the pacemakers.
I play this sitting in the cemetery when I visit dd's grave.

elliemcx · 22/02/2020 22:09

many rivers to cross- Jimmy Cliff
