It’s as broad as it’s long.

My manager’s go to is “to cut a long story short”. Cue a really long boring story with unnecessary detail.

What’s yours?

Exciting Friday thread topic I know.

It is, what it is. Also, What goes around comes around.

TeaAddict235 · 07/02/2020 20:49

"I'm not being funny but......"

"When shi$ hits the fan...."

If I'm going down, you're coming with me

Boots20 · 07/02/2020 20:55

I dont have a particular one but my dad always says 'ah well such is life'

Snooks1971 · 07/02/2020 21:02

I also say it is what it is. And, I’m not being funny but...

Take it to the bridge

Or
Let's go, bananas

Snooks1971 · 07/02/2020 21:34

@CountTessa do you really say the take it to the bridge thing? I couldn’t pull that off and I would sound like a twat Grin

Dh is always saying 'it is what it is' and it winds me up. It's so unhelpful!

I say 'in a nutshell' a lot to stop myself waffling on.

Bezalelle · 07/02/2020 21:39

I like to add "and no mistake" to the end of statements.

Justmuddlingalong · 07/02/2020 21:40

Suck it up, buttercup. I have a limited amount of patience and a drama filled extended family. There's only so much ear bending I can take, and only so much sympathy I can give.

CountTessa · 07/02/2020 21:47

I totally sound like a twat, but luckily there's a cafe nearby called the bridge so I can just about pull it off. 😀.

MondeoFan · 07/02/2020 22:13

I always say "never mind it'll soon be Xmas" I find it comforting as my Nan used to say it. Although in January it doesn't work quite as well as it does the rest of the year haha

LightDrizzle · 07/02/2020 22:18

“I might as well be dead” - in response to some very minor slight, or enquiry if I’d mind x or y. It’s a reference to my mum’s melodramatic overreactions with which we were all familiar.

Mollypolly2610 · 07/02/2020 23:07

We used to say in the Middle East. Life’s a bitch and then you die.

cowfacemonkey · 07/02/2020 23:09

It is what it is (I know people hate it but it's true!)
Not my circus not my monkeys

franke · 07/02/2020 23:11

Well we are where we are.

kittykatkitty · 07/02/2020 23:12

Everything for a reason
It's all about finding balance

slipperywhensparticus · 07/02/2020 23:12

Ah well or he needs a long walk

Clawdy · 07/02/2020 23:16

Back in the day......

LotusInspired · 07/02/2020 23:18

Mine is “It is well ... “

Downunderduchess · 08/02/2020 03:30

I say... “but that’s just me”

FatLassNumber1 · 08/02/2020 03:33

Chuck it in the fuck it bucket

MaxPanic · 08/02/2020 03:37

My DH says "I don't need your life story" to everything (even if you just asked him to pass the salt). It was funny 3 months ago, now, not so much!

I'm just as bad though, my favourite is "Someone's been on the disco biscuits" (aimed at someone being being a bit excitable or erratic).

Shannith · 08/02/2020 06:22

@MaxPanic my cat is called Disco (Biscuit) for that reason 😂

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 08/02/2020 09:04

What will hold more, will hold less.
When the only container/bag you can find is too big for the object you want to carry.

Jupiters · 08/02/2020 11:39

I use "it is what it is" a lot.
