Can you recommend a warm white/off white paint colour please?

Before I go mad. Preferably Dulux but if not something durable and with good coverage. It’s for a darkish flat and I want something fresh and clean but not stark, cold and clinical looking.

I’ve tested linen and delicate white by crown. Rotten coverage and too stark.

Dulux pebble shore and something else pebbly - too grey. White cotton - too cold.

Farrow and Ball - old white - looks dirty

I’m going quietly bonkers and decorator starts a week tomorrow. Any recommendations please?

I like Farrow and Ball Ammonite or Dulux Egyptian Cotton, though both may be too dark for you

F&B school house white is nice.

BruceAndNosh · 02/02/2020 13:08

Dulux Natural Calico is nice. Slightly warm but not at all yellow.
But I would say it's a definite colour rather than an off white.
My house is quite dark and we are gradually redecorating throughout with this.

Nutmeg white? Works well for us.

Flatteredbutno · 02/02/2020 13:11

Not tried it but read that Dulux Timeless is a nice, warm white.

Salt by Neptune is lovely! We've just had this after spending months trying to find the right
White 🙂 slightly grey undertone but stops it looking too warm or too cool

Also have timeless in some rooms as mentioned up thread

Snakelet · 02/02/2020 13:13

Thanks for these. The Egyptian cotton looks pretty close to the Pebble Shore which on my walls looked dingy. I didn’t think this would be so tricky. School House white looks nice. (I have the dulux and F&B charts to hand).

Natural calico

BruceAndNosh · 02/02/2020 13:15

I tried Nutmeg White before settling on Natural Calico but found nutmeg white a bit purplish and cold.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 02/02/2020 13:17

Dulux Timeless is lovely.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 02/02/2020 13:18

(We have it in 2 rooms)

RoseHarper · 02/02/2020 13:18

Dulux timeless - perfect chalky warm white...but it's a definite white not a cream. No yellow tones.

Snakelet · 02/02/2020 13:19

Timeless is on my list to get a tester of. Glad to hear it’s warm toned. I think the Brewers might look dingy with the natural light I’m working with.

Right I’m off to Homebase again to get some Timeless.

@Snakelet might be worth a look at Dulux Fine Cream too.
In our north facing room . Door is white gloss for comparison.

Can you recommend a warm white/off white paint colour please?
Snakelet · 02/02/2020 13:33

Turnstone that does look good. And the look I’m after. Will add that to tester list thanks.

We have Dulux timeless in most rooms, which is definitely a warm white.
We also have Natural Calico which is a bit like magnolia but not so peachy.
White mist is nice too. It's a really subtle pale grey

ellendegeneres · 02/02/2020 14:54

We have nutmeg white, is often commented on as a ‘not cold’ white by visitors. It’s our darkest room, north facing so it brightens without making it look colder than it already is

beanaseireann · 02/02/2020 15:59

Dulux Jasmine White

CormoranStrike · 02/02/2020 16:02

I’ve just used Leyland’s brilliant white Matt from b and q and was delighted with it - a much warmer white than the name suggests and just what I was looking for.

Can you recommend a warm white/off white paint colour please?

We have Farrow and Ball shades mixed by dulux- clunch on the walls and pointing on the woodwork. We

Dulux Subtle Ivory 4.

ClaireC1751 · 02/02/2020 16:12

I would second Jasmine White by Dulux, much warmer than Timeless in my experience and definitely off white. It looks lovely in our recently painted north facing spare room.
