I've just been made redundant. I've no idea how I'm going to cope. What the hell do I do now?!

I don't know what I want from this post. I just feel so lost.

Well done! That’s fantastic.

lingo · 05/02/2020 18:37

Huge congratulations! If you really have no work to do for the next few weeks is there any way to brush up on the skills needed in your new job? If not, at least you can sit happy in the knowledge you're moving on to something!

DramaAlpaca · 05/02/2020 18:40

Well done! Good for you & hope your new job goes well.

redastherose · 05/02/2020 18:40

Congratulations OP worth asking your existing employer if they will put you on gardening leave until your end date and have a couple of weeks off.

icelollycraving · 05/02/2020 19:11

Bloody marvellous 🍾

BingoLittlesUncle · 05/02/2020 19:13

Now, how do I get through the next three weeks of sitting at my desk being ignored with no work to do?

Treat it as a rest cure for which your employer is paying. Do only what you want to do, when you want to do it. That's what I did in your position. Having a job to go to gives you the whip hand! Smile

BustedDreams · 05/02/2020 19:18

Congratulations @SidneyPrescott!

If its awful, go and see a gp, private if necessary, and get signed off with stress for the next 3wks, this is not bs, you have been put under immense stress. If you're in London you can pm me for a sympathetic Dr recommendation.

Congrats on the new job.

3luckystars · 05/02/2020 19:32
