Would you buy a bed from Argos??

We've been to a bed place tonight to see about getting 2 new beds for the dcs
Money is tight at the moment
2 beds in Dreams = £718 0% over 20months
2 similar beds in Argos £395 0% over 12m

They're silent night, pocket sprung with pillow topper
The ones in Dreams are pocket sprung with pillow topper

I know Argos do a 100 day trial but the bed can't be stained or damaged in any way

WWYD?

@ Cookiedough123 same as a bed- IKEA cheap and comfy.

I bought my mattress from Argos three years ago. Still going strong and I expect to get more years out of it.
It was a pocket sprung / memory foam combo. It’s great.

Nothing wrong with that. I bought a leather sofa from them in 2000, sold it in 2014 and it was like brand new still. I had to sell it as was moving back to the UK from Oz and limited space we’d thought we’d buy a new one. Still miss that sofa as had good sleeps on it as well Sad
I can’t see the beds being any different from Dreams tbh.

My wooden single bed frame from argos lasted a good twelve years.
However when it collapsed I got a divan replacement from a local company - check if any local to you offer the interest free credit you need as I think I got more for my money from them.

stripeypillowcase · 12/01/2020 08:26

why must it be a divan?

fantasmasgoria1 · 12/01/2020 08:39

Yes i have bought beds from argos. When my children were young I needed to buy beds so I got a couple and a bed for myself this was 20 odd years ago. They lasted a long time. I bought pine single beds and a beautiful metal double frame. They were not the cheapest or most expensive just mid range but they were good at the time!

IKEA, you'll do far better on price and quality than anywhere else. Also, I would NEVER buy anything from Argos, because I did the home deliveries. God that stuff was shit.

We got my DSD (5) bed frame silver metal from B&M for £30 and then Ikea for her mattress at £60. It's light, easy to put together and we have had visitors stay in it who have also commented how comfy it is. We got DSD some under bed boxes for her toys and a fancy looking one from ikea (more basket than a tub) for her shoes

Foslady · 12/01/2020 11:26

Do you have any independents near you? We have a couple and have just got a complete bargain on a double oak bed and mattress - I imagine would be similar for singles to the kind of prices you are quoting

NewNameIsNew · 12/01/2020 13:06

Ours are from Argos simply because there was no other viable option for beds that fit in the space. The IKEA ones we have for other rooms are just as cheap and much better.
