Does anyone think that they will lose their titles or that Charles will stop funding them?

Personally, no - to put it bluntly, I expect they've got too much on Charles for him to risk treating them very harshly. Remember that Diana was said to have made William her "confidante", and who knows what he may have shared with his brother over the years

As for Zara Philips and her Longines endorsement contract, or her highly-paid consultancy work for racing companies: if she had been plain old Sarah Smith, even if she was a world class rider, do you really think those contracts would have dropped into her lap? Would they bollocks
The thing is though, either you get rid of the Royals and the whole of the aristocracy or you live among them and their children. Peter and Zara are always going to be grandchildren of The Queen. At least they are getting people to pay for their stuff and actually achieving something. Being a full time Royal is basically being paid for and expecting an absurd amount of deference for doing nothing of any consequence. They survive by pretending they deserve to be bowed and curtseyed to and we have to pay for the privelege. The thing is, even if we get rid of the aristocracy, we'll have people who live off their parents connections. Look at America and the Bushes, Clinton's and Trumps, or the acting profession.

Sad as it is, the plot to this play is panning out exactly as the more cynical of us predicted.

Plenty of plain old sports people who reach world class get these sponsorships. Plain old David Beckham was born to a hairdresser and a kitchen fitter.

I think if Charles cuts off the money then they will even more aggressively commercialise brand Sussex. The RF would hate that.

I really do hope they lose all their titles, they can be Mr and Mrs private citizen then, which is perfectly good enough for the vast majority of people the world over.

David Beckham put in the hard work though. Zara doesn’t. Some time back, I read on the royal threads about someone who competed with Zara. She was not well thought of in those circles. She didn’t put in the necessary work herself. She had the best trainers and the best horses. The poster went on to say that pre babies Zara was supposed to be a certain weight to compete in specific events but she didn’t even take it seriously enough to lose the weight.

They will make huge money commercially which will more than compensate them for what they currently receive from Prince Charles Duchy. I read their security costs 600k per year, they will make that in a single event by showing up together at some paid for appearance..

They don't need Prince Charles money, the Queens money, they don't even need the titles. I think they naively thought they were compromising and being fair by saying they would continue to support the Queen and retain their titles, I honestly think they don't give a shit about being the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
