Sunday morning; what's everyone up to today?

I'm just about to go and get dressed, then crack on with back to school stuff for the morning - shirts to iron, buns to bake, my work ID to get back out, check homework's complete or at least in progress.

The girls are off shopping in a while, with their dad, for my birthday at the end of the week. I might do a bit of sewing while they're out

We'll have a roast chicken for tea (but not sure what with yet) & early baths/bed all round ready for the morning.

I've been to the coop and done a bit of admin for a charity I'm involved with. Need to do a bit of work and want to get out for a walk this afternoon. Then I've got a new recipe to try for a savoury tart.

DD will be here for an hour or two in between going to the cinema with one group of friends and going for a sleepover at another. School doesn't start back here until Tuesday but need to make sure everything is ready and all homework done...

IpanemaGallina · 05/01/2020 11:43

Making a couple of soups to eat during the week. Meal planning for week. Will do salmon for tea later and lunch boxes for tomorrow.

Washing blazers and coats.

Attempting to tidy house.

Would like to sit and watch film later with dc’s and finish Christmas choccies.

@We3kingsoforientareandabump these potatoes are nice with pork loin steaks and salad, even fussy dd2 eats them :) (hopefully the link works)

Been to church, now contemplating cheese for lunch and the decorations will have to come down at some point....

lucysmam · 05/01/2020 11:48

Oh, it linked to the right recipe, just on Pinterest!

Kids have been awake since 7am crashing around. I've got a nasty cold and looked after them most of the day yesterday whilst DH went to football, so he's been instructed to take them far far away 😁

I've just had a shower and am planning to watch some netflix, sleep and eat soup or nice soft things.

Pascha · 05/01/2020 11:56

Ds2's birthday so cake for breakfast, another child's party in a minute and out for dinner for ds later. He's having his own party next week.

Pascha · 05/01/2020 11:57

He's been awake since 4am BTW. And also had a nightmare in the night so we're all bouncing now Smile

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 05/01/2020 12:06

Cooking lunch, doing laundry and listening to DD and DSIL bickering amiably and the clicking of MIL's needles. Lovely and peaceful. At some point DGS will be returned by other DGPs and the peace will end. Still be lovely though.

MoonlightMistletoe · 05/01/2020 12:12

Doing as many loads of washing as I can, ironing school uniforms.

Sorted out some toys the younger children don't play with so I can take them to charity at some point, Need to crack on with sorting out the clothes which are too small so I can give them away too!

Oh then there's dinner 🥘

I'd love to just get back into bed eat loads of crap and watch a movie but the show must go on Grin

Em012 · 05/01/2020 12:22

Had a sasuage sandwich and a cuppa with the oh for brunch chilling until this evening as have a friends birthday meal

CheeseNOnionPasty · 05/01/2020 12:24

Had a lovely long bubble bath before anyone else was up, then made a lasagne and nipped out to get my nails done.

Going to have the lasagne for lunch, then DH and the kids are tackling some housework (I did my share yesterday) and I’m off for a coffee and to to see Little Women with my mum and sister.

Back to work tomorrow, so early night tonight.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/01/2020 12:26

I spent this morning finishing off the three birthday cakes I made yesterday (I was up icing them at midnight) and have just packed them ready to transport later.
Just about to make some cheese toasties for lunch and have 5 mins of down time and then get out to set up for party time!
DS and 2 of his friends are having their birthday party this afternoon so I'm gearing up for 2 hours of madness and then I can relax in the knowledge it's all over for another year Grin

DeNiroDeFaro · 05/01/2020 12:32

Battling a stinking cold by being productive.

Got up early and went for a run (not easy with congestion and a hacking cough!).

Then have come home, cleaned out the fridge and cupboards of expired condiments and cleaned them. Food shop delivered and put away, and now prepping lunch.

Have also stripped beds and got those in the wash,

This afternoon I've an assortment of odd jobs and admin to do, plus a good house clean. Will find something on Netflix to keep me company.

StCharlotte · 05/01/2020 13:16

Have had family staying this weekend which has been lovely. Last lot left about an hour go. Have tidied up and have now lit the fire and intend to chill for the day with a book and some catch-up TV. Bliss.

LBOCS2 · 05/01/2020 13:25

I've just got back from taking the 4yo to a birthday party at Pizza Express (genius - pizza for brunch, I wholly approve!). DH is playing a board game with DD1 in another room, and I'm drinking a coffee in the quiet.

I've got a bit of DIY to do today (attaching a fireplace to the wall, fun things like that!) and we need to de-Christmas the house.

We're having roast lamb for dinner and then it's early nights all around - the DC aren't back at school until Tuesday but DH and I are back to work. New job for me as well, so I'm starting to get butterflies about it Confused

goatbame · 05/01/2020 13:41

It's still early here. It snowed last night and is still snowing so ds and I are just lying in bed chilling watching the big flakes slowly fall down. Cats are on the bed too and dog is sighing and sulking at the bottom of the bed.

DH is cooking us breakfast in bed bless him. It's his first day off since Christmas so I really should be cooking him breakfast in bed but he always leaps up with boundless energy whereas I have a little bit of a hangover.

We'll get up in a bit and go sledding. (I might just send dh as I don't want to go but then I'll get Mum guilt that I'm not doing a family activity. Grin)

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 05/01/2020 13:43

14 miles run this morning, tidy up and a Sunday roast dinner. Kids being lazy!

goatbame · 05/01/2020 13:43

And I really wanted to take the tree down today as I can't do it on my own but ds had a full sobbing session complete with real tears so I guess I'll do it tomorrow when dh comes home.

We also have to do a dump trip as the recycling compacter is open again for the first time in 3 weeks. I can't tell you how much recycling we've accrued over the Christmas period. Shock

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 05/01/2020 13:44

Where are you @goatbame? Love snow!

ssd · 05/01/2020 13:47

Love your threads Lucy!
I'm not even dressed, Dec's are down and away in lift, chicken thighs in slow cooker, got a bit of a headache, need some fresh air, will shower soon.

ssd · 05/01/2020 13:48

Loft sorry

goatbame · 05/01/2020 13:49

@Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany in Maine. It's due to snow pretty much every day for the two weeks. I'll be bloody sick of it by then!

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 05/01/2020 13:59

Oh sounds lovely! Rarely get snow but make the most of it when i do!

midsomermurderess · 05/01/2020 13:59

I went swimming and did a bit of a shop. Then I had a quick check on work emails and cleared some out. Back to work tomorrow but, having felt a bit jittery about it yesterday, I feel ok about it now. Currently watching Monty Don in Japan. I would so love to visit.
