I love nearly all of my gifts this year. My favourite is a fluffy Sherpa blanket for cuddling up in on the sofa.

I was also very happy with being gifted lots of gin 😆 And I loved all of the many potions and beauty pots and masks that I got in a selection type box. They are all nice and very useable!

Boristhecats · 31/12/2019 20:10

I got audible. Best thing ever as I use my phone all day listening to audio books. Also got some gorgeous perfume from my boss. Love it so much. And she gave me some money. I never have money to spend on just me. So that went down well.

I appreciate what I didn't get bought this year if that makes sense.

I have a well meaning person in my life who buys me unnecessary gift sets of non consumables that just take up space.

Didn't happen this year, they cut back and bought only useful consumable things. I really appreciate not having to look at a pile of rubbish.

A pair of irredescent purple/teal Dr Martens that I passed comment on a few months ago! DH did well this year Grin

Newyearnewme2020 · 31/12/2019 20:36

I got a pair of trainers and a warm jacket from the kids (dp) so I'll be warm and comfortable while I bring ds to his activities. We usually only do small presents for each other so it was a nice surprise as well as being thoughtful, and dp even wrapped them. The kids are 6 and 6 months. Really made me felt appreciated.

its2019ffs · 31/12/2019 20:39

I got a hot water bottle and a lovely soft dressing gown from dh. But my most appreciated gift was art supplies, again from dh, it just shows how much he supports me

ExtraneousDetail · 31/12/2019 20:45

Not this year, last year, I got a Nintendo Switch. I have had a wonderful time playing Zelda on it. I’m not the best player so it’s taken me the best part of a year to complete the game - which has only added to my pleasure 😀

justthecat · 31/12/2019 20:53

We did family secret Santa and my ds framed a pic( he took off my iPad without my knowledge) of both my cats in front our fire. One of them died this year at a very old age. Their names engraved on the frame.
Cried my eyes out, was so thoughtful

weegiemum · 31/12/2019 21:07

Best presents came from my dc (amazingly)!

Dd1 (19) bought me a tiny portable Bluetooth speaker so I can listen to music all over the house.

Ds (17) bought me a fantastic scented candle, which is going to run out way before I get fed up of it

Dd2 (16) bought me the makeup I need to make my fading eyebrows look nice (not sharpie drawn, just natural) and has taught me how to do them.

Very proud of my dc thoughtfulness.

Also dh bought me a gorgeous hardback copy of one of my favourite childhood books- Moominland Midwinter. That was also excellent!

Deathraystare · 01/01/2020 13:36

My Godson and his wife gave me a £20 Waterstones card. I love books!

MuseumOfYou · 01/01/2020 13:47

DH did really well this year; Joules PJ's, posh scented candle, lovely silver pendant, teapot, oven timer and OXO fishslice- a game changer for pancake making. All very much appreciated.

Bluesheep8 · 01/01/2020 15:15

2 for me. One was a Fit e watch with a step counter from DP as I want to be motivated to walk more. The other was a huge box of individually blended spices for different recipes from around the world from my mum and dad. You can the order full size jars of the spices from the company after trying the sample - genius!

francienolan · 01/01/2020 23:18

DH gave me, among a couple of other things, a box of bath products which is lovely as it's how I relax best.

My parents gave me some art things, they noticed on my instagram I like to draw just for me so they gave me some really nice bits. I'm really pleased!

I had lovely things from the various in laws too, some useful books and lovely things to wear. I feel very spoiled.

CooCooCoo · 01/01/2020 23:21

Bisto Gravy Boat
You better believe it

YourVagesty · 01/01/2020 23:28

Well my engagement ring was v much appreciated! Of 1920s vintage and very, very, very sparkly.

Also, a lovely leather bound journal and a smart fountain pen.

It's been a good christmas! I've just moved house too so it's been an exciting couple of weeks with lots of 'self-presents' for the new abode so I'm feeling more spoiled than usual.

thaegumathteth · 01/01/2020 23:37

A personalised ring from dh and tickets to see a comedian we both like.

My mum got me woodwick candles which I LOVE.

Dd (9) drew a picture and for a frame for it and it's lovely :)

Ds (13) spent time with his aging decrepit parents and didn't die of embarrassment on sight

HighOnStilts · 01/01/2020 23:42

My OH spoilt me this year! He got me a Kitchen Aid mixer which I am over the moon with, my favourite perfume J'adore Dior, two Daniella Draper bangles, a telescope (wanted once since I was a little girl) and a Philips sonic toothbrush. I couldn't be happier! ☺

KaptenKrusty · 01/01/2020 23:49

I’m so broke at the moment due to saving like mad to buy my first house with my DH - we decided to not buy each other presents this year as we felt we should put the money into the house fund instead - we splashed out on 2nights in a hotel over the break instead and it was so lovely and relaxing after working so hard the last few months doing as much overtime as possible!

Also I’ve not been buying anything for myself for ages and really needed some new trainers and my mum got them for me for Christmas and I was delighted - they were about 80£ and at the moment that seems like an awful lot to spend on items for myself - not very exciting hahah

GlowingR · 02/01/2020 00:01

@Bluesheep8 What was the company of the spices sample box please?

HalfManHalfLabrador · 02/01/2020 00:11

A years Netflix subscription

IncyWincyGrownUp · 02/01/2020 01:39

A fuzzy jacket from a friend, it’s like having a portable/wearable teddy hug for out and about.

AmericanAdventure · 02/01/2020 01:48

The most appreciated gift here this Christmas was one for the cat. My DD (5) made her a bed with a space for some dreamies from an amazon cardboard delivery box and a pritt stick. Cat bloody loves it.

Weenurse · 02/01/2020 02:04

An air fryer

Cakewineorgin · 02/01/2020 02:20

@SospanFrangipan DD and I argued over who would get these! DH bought them for DD but in the maroon colour and I dutifully changed them for the teal. Turns out they are too big for DD and they don’t do half sizes. She is upset so I can’t swap them for my size as I will feel guilty every time I wear them. I did get a lovely set of PJs and DH managed to track down and buy a handbag I love but didn’t realise I wanted until years after they had stopped making it.

RachelTension · 02/01/2020 04:11

DM had two fridge magnets made of pictures of DCats and I seriously love them!
