Is Aldgate The nearest tube station to brick Lane? And what cafés should I try there?

I'm visually impaired, and have a lot of trouble understanding maps. I tried to Google the nearest tube station, and I'm just double checking that I have the right one? I was thinking of going to the serial killer café, since I've heard they do a nice hot chocolate and I really want to try some different cereal. Are there any other little Places there that you would recommend? I love Asian food. But I am up for anything really.

We always end up going to the Brewdog there for brunch when we're in the area, but i am a sucker for chicken and waffles.

I've used Liverpool Street station mainly but it is a few minutes away on foot.

The biegel shops are both still there

Last time I was there the 24 hour bagel bake was still open (at the Bethnal Green end corner)

I would do a self guided walking tour through the area. Start at Liverpool Street station and walk through and take in Spitalfields market which has lots of good stores and street food options then go towards Shoreditch High Street if you want to try Dishooms and from there onto Brick Lane not sure if the Cereal Killer Cafe is still there as I think it’s moved to Camden Market. The 24 hour Beigel Bake is the place for a salt beef beigel with all the trimmings with a cup of stewed tea. If you go on a Sunday there’s street food stores and it’s only a short walk to Columbia Street flower market which if you can put up with the crush is amazing. Then walk or get a cab towards Whitechapel/ Aldgate tube station

There are interesting and historic streets and buildings around the back of spitalfields - well worth getting a map and good pair of walking shoes!

When we were skint students we would get map and walks book, pack a lunch and hoof around parts of town and take photos. Ah, simpler days!

It's still on Brick Lane. They've opened a second branch in Camden.

The milk was warm when we went to Cereal Killer, and it's so expensive.

I remember there’s Lady Dinah’s cat cafe round the corner from Brick Lane if that’s your thing but needs prior booking and a lovely authentic Japanese restaurant called Sushi Show a few doors down from that which is very reasonable. If you like vintage fashion then Brick Lane and Beyond Retro which is just of Brick Lane are interesting
