What are you eating today?

We’ve got family coming over, so I’m making a soup, cold cuts, bread, pate, coleslaw etc.

We've had leftover cinnamon buns with cream cheese frosting I made for yesterday. Just ate my dear late mum's patented "Best Ever Turkey Sandwich" that my dh declares is the best thing he eats all yearGrin. Mil and her dp are popping over later for mince pies and homemade brandy butter. Then we'll let the kids eat chocolate and we'll polish over the minimal leftovers with a cracking bubble and squeak, slightly burnt with a fried egg on top. HP for dh and Picalilli for me.

@2littlechicks agree with that. It's my fave meal too. So much so my dsis once made it for me as my birthday dinner in the middle of August. ''Twas amazing! Grin

Over ate massivly yesterday so I'm having a salad later, turkey, coleslaw, cheese, eggs and salad things. Not having anything else until then.

We have a quiet Christmas Day so Boxing Day is a family party.
We are hosting and doing a buffet. Ham , turkey, warm bread, pickles , coleslaw and lots of lovely puddings.

refusetobeasheep · 26/12/2019 14:01

All yesterday's meal warmed up again!

Bubble and squeak, plus whatever is in the fridge. That's a lot of cooked meat, cheese etc... Grin

Smoked salmon, prawns, salad and french bread this afternoon and cheese and crackers this evening probably. We wanted something relatively light after yesterday!

dementedma · 26/12/2019 14:20

Whatever is in, everyone fends for themselves.
Breakfast was cheese, turkey and olives for me, a grapefruit for dh, sausage butties for DS and cheesecake for dd1.
Dinner will be the same. There is also leftover soup to be used up. Job done.

JoGose · 26/12/2019 14:21

Turkey sandwiches!

peridito · 26/12/2019 17:24

Am I the only person who never fancies bubble and squeak ?

Mashed potato ,cold turkey and salad leaves .I see one other MNetter having the same .

SwingingBy · 26/12/2019 17:40

Had a bowl of soup for lunch and a sandwich for tea.
My sister is dropping round this evening so I'll crack open a box of mince pies.

mamaduckbone · 26/12/2019 22:51

Buffet lunch - pork pie, cheeseboard etc and the ONLY thing you can possibly have for Boxing Day dinner - cold turkey, ham and chips with leftover stuffing and chipolatas, pickles, salad and lashings of Hellman's mayonnaise - best meal of Christmas by far.
