7yo and 5yo were up until about 10pm so I hoped for a bit of a lay-in.

2yo came into bed with us about 6.30am and I've been awake ever since. Even the cat is asleep.

Wake up people, it's Christmas. I'm excited Grin

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 25/12/2019 07:59

Me three! DT1 who is 22mo came into our bed to sleep overnight but his sisters (22mo and nearly 5y) aren't stirring!

Campervan69 · 25/12/2019 07:59

We have been up since 6:30. Youngest son was over excited about Christmas and I think now is a bit teary bless.

And here! I've been waiting since 6.30 ! Although I've just had a mild panic that I've forgotten to put chocolate coins in the stockings but for the life of me can't remember where I put them!

dementedma · 25/12/2019 08:02

Mine are teens/adults and decided no stockings until 9.30. DH and I were awake at 7! Changed days.

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2019 08:03

funmummy48 · 25/12/2019 08:04

I'm enjoying a quiet cup of tea in bed as only DH and I are awake. Bliss. Merry Christmas to you all ⛄🎄

toomuchfaster · 25/12/2019 08:05

DD (5) was asleep by 7.30 last night so was up at 6.50, very respectable. She's opened her stocking and is now doing a jigsaw.

KatherineJaneway · 25/12/2019 08:06

I know. Everyone including the cats are asleep here. I'm wide awake.

Roselilly36 · 25/12/2019 08:06

Haha 😂 I can remember those days, mine are teens now, so we won’t be seeing them anytime soon either! Happy Christmas everyone ❤️

LizziesTwin · 25/12/2019 08:08

I’m enjoying a pain au chocolat & cup of coffee with the dogs (one of whom ate 5 dentastix yesterday). Not sure when anyone else will be up.

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2019 08:09

Ive no lights on except Bbcbreakfast so the dog has gone back to bed . My other Dd is working today so will pop in before she starts .

Lulu1919 · 25/12/2019 08:13

I'm having a coffee on the sofa....husband is still in bed.....our first Christmas morning that neither of our grownup children live here so they are waking up in their own homes....seems odd !!!!!
Father Christmas has still been though....ready for later when they come 'home' with their lovey boyfriends !!!!

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 25/12/2019 08:19

Been awake since 6:15.

Had 2 coffees, 4 toast. Washing on the line, Christmas 24 on TV, DH in bed, all 3 kids asleep (17/15/11) and i cant see them waking anytime before 10😂

This is weird🤨

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2019 08:24

The weather man on breakfast is having a "picky tea" today I suspect weatherman is a mumsnetter Xmas Grin

ktjerl · 25/12/2019 08:24

We negotiated no earlier than 8 to come down stairs but that stockings could be opened.
No was awake apart from me.
I have managed to lure the dogs out with food but one of them has already gone back to sleep.
I might "accidentally" put Myriah on all the Google homes throughout the house.

BlueBirdGreenFence · 25/12/2019 08:29

Mariah suddenly playing would be an epic way to awakened on Christmas!

millimollimandi · 25/12/2019 08:30

I've been up since 6.30 - and I don't have kids! My husband is just surfacing and youngest son will get up 10 mins before dinner at 3. I COULD go and clear up the kitchen but I've been sorting everything for lunch so he can clear up...

abitoflight · 25/12/2019 08:31

All still asleep here Hmm including DDog
I just want to get cracking now. I've had a ton of tea, sorted some washing, cleared up kitchen

Mrsjayy · 25/12/2019 08:35

When the kids were younger dh used to put his Now that is what I call Christmas Cd on about 7.30 m signalled it was time to get up .

notthenormal · 25/12/2019 08:35

countdowntochristmas · 25/12/2019 08:36

Same here I woke at 8.20pm which is a lie in for me . I've had 2 texts , 1 email already from family to wish merry Christmas. My dc are teens/adults so asleep although I can hear ds stirring . I said that I want to put turkey on about 10am so want to do breakfast soon . I'll enjoy my coffee for a bit and start waking them up . Grin

Gingerninja4 · 25/12/2019 08:40

supafish · 25/12/2019 08:41

Peaceful start for me , should be at work but no patients today so gonna enjoy my first Christmas at home for 10 years ! Chocolate and champers for breakfast , perfectly acceptable today xxx

MorrisZapp · 25/12/2019 08:41

DS was allowed to open one present last night: a Pac Man alarm clock. He was told 7am, no earlier. He lay there counting down the minutes then the sound of Pac Man filled the air :) Ooh it took me back.

I'm now trying to listen to the carols on the radio while DS compares his stash with his fortnite pals. Merry Christmas! Changed days indeed.
