What's your favourite Boris Johnson lie?

boris-johnson-lies.com

Mine is 'everything was done with complete propriety and in the normal way' which was a lie about the Jennifer Arcuri thing but could relate to his lies about whole of the last 10 years really.

Which is your favourite?

Or maybe 'I'm perfectly happy to be interviewed by any interviewer called Andrew from the BBC'. That's a good lie from Johnson too.

That the worst thing he's done is cycle on a pavement.

Not giving public funds to his mistress.
Not his affairs and iindeterminate number of children.
Not taking money from the Russians and meeting them secretly in Italy.
Not conspiring to get a journalist beaten up.
Not spaffing money away on water cannons that were illegal and unusable.

I could go on but I can't be arsed.

Simkin · 10/12/2019 13:40

Oh I remember the water canons. I don't remember him lying about them but I'm sure you're right and he did, somewhere along the line

I think my favourite was the “There’s no Press here.....” “Who are those people with TV cameras then?”

BertrandRussell · 10/12/2019 13:43

Oh and the stuff about making model buses.

Simkin · 10/12/2019 13:45

Oh yeah! I had forgotten about 'there's no press here' that we all saw on the news. Somehow. Although no press obviously.

I'm not saying he lied about the canons, I'm saying he lied about cycling being the worst thing he's done, then I listed worse things.

Simkin · 10/12/2019 13:48

Oh I'm sorry marvellousnightforamooncup I completely misunderstood/misread your post. But I agree with it completely. Flowers

I was genuinely shocked when he lied to the queen about prorogation.

I'm actually feeling a bit sick at the thought of him winning. Thankfully I live in Scotland and although I voted to remain in the UK in the referendum, if the Tories win I'll be for independence. I don't trust BJ to let us have another say though and I do t trust him with the devolution we already have.

greenlobster · 10/12/2019 15:13

Where can you even start? Every other thing out of that man's mouth is a lie. There's too many to even begin to choose.

One of the most notable to me is the bloody great lie on the side of the bus that helped start the utter insanity of the last few years.

Simkin · 10/12/2019 15:14

Me too, Marvellous. You're lucky to be in Scotland.

You know personally I'll probably be ok given where I live and my family's income. It angers me to see the very people who will suffer most when we've been separated from the pack and gobbled up by international billionaires believing his lies.

"There will be no checks on goods going from the mainland into Norhern Ireland"

Brexit Minister - "Yes there will"

TravellingSpoon · 10/12/2019 15:14

That he doesnt lie!

Scautish · 10/12/2019 15:15

.

What's your favourite Boris Johnson lie?
Scautish · 10/12/2019 15:17

There was meant to be a meme. FFS.

Simkin · 10/12/2019 15:17

angemorange that one was very Pythonesque

OP posts:
Simkin · 10/12/2019 15:18

It was Scautish. I'm sharing it elsewhere!

Yep, "There's no press here" is pretty hard to beat.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 10/12/2019 15:20

Model buses was my fave. Especially after I read it was part of a PR drive to make sure that if you google “Boris buses” or “Boris model” you get a string of results about his craftiness rather than his craftiness.

The man is a walking, talking sack of cum (to quote Malcolm Tucker).

angemorange · 10/12/2019 15:24

What about the one that's keeping a British woman in jail in Iran?

"...... a verbal gaffe by Boris Johnson led to a British citizen being threatened with a longer prison term in Iran.

Incorrect comments he made in Parliament led to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe being hauled in front of an Iranian court and told her sentence may be doubled to ten years. Mr Johnson was due to call his Iranian counterpart on Tuesday to undo damage after telling a committee hearing that Ms Zaghari-Ratcliffe worked in Tehran teaching journalism before she was arrested and jailed for spreading propaganda -"

Hilarious eh? He's a one!

KenDodd · 10/12/2019 15:30

"There's no press here" said in front of the press.

So depressing that despite all the lies, he'll still win. I saw someone on TV saying they were voting for Boris 'because he's honest, and says it like it is' I despair for this country. Can't remember if that was the bloke at the food bank or not.

angemorange · 10/12/2019 15:32

You only need to fool all of the people some of the time.........

Simkin · 10/12/2019 16:09

Sad to read these threads get on people's nerves Sad

Shame the actual lies of incompetent politicians don't seem to.
