Silly things you cried about when you were pregnant

I know there's been one of these threads before, but I just had a moment myself and it reminded me of the thread so I'd like you to share your ridiculousness too.

Mine just now was that I remembered a dessert I used to have as a child (I think it was called chocolate crunch) which I have previously reverse engineered with custard, hot chocolate powder and digestives. But I just realised we don't have any of the ingredients so I cried.

With DD1, I cried when I was on a plane because the woman behind me had her reading light on.

With DD2, I cried watching the introduction to the London Marathon. Watching someone tie their shoe laces tipped me over the edge.

Please share yours to make me feel less ridiculous.

I cried in the middle of Mothercare because they'd discontinued the nursery set I'd spent months deciding on. Not my greatest moment.

Only one person being allowed to win X Factor each year because they all try so hard.

Over spilt milk. Literally spilt 4 pints of milk as I walked out of the supermarket and burst in to tears standing in a milky puddle.

Roadkill, every time! I spent many hours sobbing at a dead rabbit/fox. I had to pull over once as I was crying so uncontrollably Grin

StartupRepair · 06/12/2019 20:18

Going to hospital to be induced, I cried saying goodbye to my cat.

LeoTimmyandVi · 06/12/2019 20:19

Charity advert for abandoned dogs - husband had to wrestle my debit card out of my hand before I signed up to donate a large monthly amount Grin

Rockbird · 06/12/2019 20:21

Someone joining the M25 from the slip road in front of me. Hmm

MustardScreams · 06/12/2019 20:21

@StartupRepair that is adorable and hilarious. Your cat must have thought you’d lost it Grin

I cried proper sobbing, snotty tears when my favourite takeaway closed on a non-usual night and I couldn’t get the pizza I’d craved all day.

amusedbush · 06/12/2019 20:22

I’ve never been pregnant but my friend was in the supermarket and couldn’t decide what to have for dinner so she set her basket down on the floor and sobbed in the middle of the aisle. We both laughed when she told me about it Grin

3luckystars · 06/12/2019 20:23

I was eating a bag of lettuce and I started sobbing because I knew nothing would ever taste so good again.

The Sandals holidays advert. So many happy, happy perfect people.

Eventrider1 · 06/12/2019 20:27

I had a meltdown in Homebase the other evening because all the good potted Christmas trees had gone...I even went so far as to tell my DH that Christmas had been ruined because of it 😂

coffeeaddiction · 06/12/2019 20:27

Soggy broccoli

Raffles1981 · 06/12/2019 20:28

I bought a pack of two doughnuts, Cadbury ones, reduced in price as the date was that day. I sat in my car and bit into the first one and it was slightly (and I mean, really every so slightly) stale. I cried so much, all the way home. Totally ridiculous but hey - pregnancy 😁

pictish · 06/12/2019 20:28

The Hovis advert (this was years ago) with the boy run in through the streets in different eras. No idea why but it choked me.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 06/12/2019 20:48

They had run out of frozen chicken and vegetable pies in Asda...

Harriedharriet · 06/12/2019 20:55

People winning competitions! Destroyed me. A combination of understanding the effort and the sheer triumph I think.

Silent Night - deep heart wrenching sobbing (& mortification!).

Any hint of anything bad happening to a child in a film or book would have me fleeing and weeping.

Perfume - turned right off and could not be around it at all. Difficult as you can imagine!

LLMD · 06/12/2019 20:57

Because I never ever knew what I wanted for dinner.

I cried in front of the fridge and freezer, more than once 👀

Anurulz · 06/12/2019 21:04

I cried like a baby during a couple episodes of Parks and Recreation - the one with Ben and Leslie's wedding and the finale when she gifted Ron shares of Lagavulin.. My husband was shifting between laughing his head off and stroking my head in affection..

Knowhowufeel · 06/12/2019 21:09

Every time I heard Enrique's 'Hero' on the radio, which was daily at the time, I couldn't stop crying, but real sobs, not dainty at all BlushConfused

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 06/12/2019 21:13

The dog barking and waking me up. Dh not building the bookcase so I tried to do it myself but the shelves kept falling down. Someone gave us some baby clothes but I didn't like them so put them right to the back of the drawer and I felt so guilty!

TiptopJ · 06/12/2019 21:15

A series of call the midwife was on in my last trimester. Every birth I sobbed-as in hiccups, snot coming out my nose sobbing- at the 'beauty' of giving birth

Anoisagusaris · 06/12/2019 21:17

I had a taste of wine at a meal in restaurant and cried because it was so beautiful (was actually a really good wine).

IndieTara · 06/12/2019 21:19

Not quite a pregnancy one. Just after I'd had DD and was back home I cried for a few days because I couldn't feel her kick when I was in bed Blush
