Silly things you cried about when you were pregnant

I know there's been one of these threads before, but I just had a moment myself and it reminded me of the thread so I'd like you to share your ridiculousness too.

Mine just now was that I remembered a dessert I used to have as a child (I think it was called chocolate crunch) which I have previously reverse engineered with custard, hot chocolate powder and digestives. But I just realised we don't have any of the ingredients so I cried.

With DD1, I cried when I was on a plane because the woman behind me had her reading light on.

With DD2, I cried watching the introduction to the London Marathon. Watching someone tie their shoe laces tipped me over the edge.

Please share yours to make me feel less ridiculous.

Charity adverts here as well!

cheeseislife8 · 06/12/2019 21:21

Sainsbury's didn't have the specific coleslaw I like. They had tons of others, but not the one I wanted. I cried

MilaRos · 06/12/2019 21:21

I made a tomato soup with melted cheese and crusty bread...and dropped it all over the floor! I sobbed for a good 30 mins!

A steel band playing Christmas carols in Sloane Square and it was snowing. I was about 36 weeks and came over all emotional at how perfect it was.

CoodleMoodle · 06/12/2019 21:26

Our old hoover. My late DGM gave it to us when DH and I moved to uni, and we had it for the six years we lived in our flat. Not long after we moved, it stopped working. DH said we should take it to the dump and buy a new one. I cried because that was my DGM's hoover and how dare he suggest that we should get rid of it!? Had he not liked my DGM!?

In the end we gave it to my DM and DSF, and they fixed it easily with a part they bought for pennies. It still works now, nearly 6 years later Grin

I didn't have any weird crying with DC2, just the hoover with DC1!

slipperywhensparticus · 06/12/2019 21:27

Chelsea won 5-0 I hate football I shrieked uncontrollably when when worlds tiniest dog yipped in my direction and I lost a child under my bump and everyone pissed themselves laughing I thought if I walked forward I would mow the poor kid down

Thismummyruns · 06/12/2019 21:27

I remember crying over not being able to eat a cupcake in peace with a cup of tea as DD1 wanted it.

It tipped me over the edge 😂

donttellmetwice · 06/12/2019 21:29

My husband took too long popping to the shop. I can't believe what hormones can do to a pregnant woman 😂

PrancerOnParade · 06/12/2019 21:29

First pregnancy, a bit over 16 years ago now, I watched the South Park movie as I couldn't cope with anything remotely emotional. One of the characters died (not Kenny) and I was in floods of tears. Blush

Bobbiepin · 06/12/2019 21:32

Dead anteater on TV.

After DD was born I cried because I dropped a spoon.

PurplePuffinPicker · 06/12/2019 21:36

Because DW tickled my knee. It was a deep emotional sobbing, literally triggered from the laugh of the tickling.

plumpee · 06/12/2019 21:52

Someone driving reallyyyyy slowly in front of me when I really needed a wee

EmmiJay · 06/12/2019 21:59

I bawled my eyes out for a whole morning because my favourite black scoop neck skater dress could no longer fit over my bump. I was late to work and my make up had run on the train from the constant tears. A mess.

ElluesPichulobu · 06/12/2019 22:02

about 7 months pg. I cried at how vulnerable and small the cat was, and how in need of love and protection. cat in question was 7 years old, veteran of numerous battles for territory and dominance in the local area and had once brought home a pigeon he had caught. not actually particularly vulnerable. suspect I was projecting.

Berrylove · 06/12/2019 22:03

Dp came home one morning from work and surprised me with an Oreo donut, I put it aside to eat when I woke up and then completely forgot about it for days. When I remembered I burst into tears because I didn’t eat it.

susiegrapevine · 06/12/2019 22:07

Cried a little bit in Morrison's cos they didn't have the wholemeal muffins I wanted, then hysterically cried because I found them in one of the isles in the loading crates! I was so happy!

ineedaholidaynow · 06/12/2019 22:07

Because we didn't have space in the house for a piano, just in case my unborn child was going to be a musical genius Confused

I cried at pretty much every advert!

MsTSwift · 06/12/2019 22:10

I did worse than crying. I threw my handbag into a lake and threw plates at dh. I had to go home from work as I couldn’t stop laughing at a lame joke. Had a mental phase during my first pregnancy!

GoldPaperStars · 06/12/2019 22:11

At the moment it’s dogs. Not specifically ill treated dogs, just random dogs I see on the street. They’re just so pure! Blush I’m ridiculous.

Mandatorymongoose · 06/12/2019 22:14

The advert for the snowman and the snowdog (2012) I couldn't bring myself to actually watch it, just the advert made me sob because I thought the dog might melt.

DH bought me a little steiff snowdog teddy as a present after DS was born that I treasure as a memory of being a soppy mess.

Justgivemesomepeace · 06/12/2019 22:15

I went to a different branch of morrissons than usual and it was massive and i couldnt find anything. I lost the plot eventually when i couldnt find the tin foil and stood crying in the aisle.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 06/12/2019 22:16

I should surely win this thread with this one: At around 15 weeks pregnant with DD1 I cried because Ignition by R Kelly is just such an absolute banger. True story. Husband thought I was actually cracked.

Mermaidtissues · 06/12/2019 22:17

When pregnant I sobbed over the penguins at the London aquarium not able to see sunlight.

suitepea · 06/12/2019 22:18

I cried my eyes out at around 9 weeks pregnant at a mattress advert on the Telly, the mattress was just so soft and comfy looking and the people were so happy sleeping in it

7dayslater · 06/12/2019 22:19

My DP didn't take any money with him to work, meaning he'd have no lunch. I sobbed.
