Does anyone else feel that long never ending cuddles make you feel smothered, burdened and bored or even slightly depressed?

I'm talking about cuddles from your partner etc. and not quick hugs.

Are you standing there being hugged or cuddling in bed /on the sofa?

Ugh. Even worse a fully grown, unshowered hairy man bum in foetal position with a backwards “cuddle me” FUCK OOOOOFFFF

I hate being cuddled, I go along with them as DH gets sad if I push him away but I really don't like them. Trapped, hemmed in, suffocated. Nope. No thanks. Give me back my personal space.

I long to be just cuddled and it not turning into sex. Sometimes I just want a cuddle.

Dh used to cuddle me in bed, it’s beautiful, but I’d be too hot and terrified to move in case I dislodged him and he thought I was trying to get rid of him!! Then I used to just twitch and he’d move, all good!

Yup. I use up my cuddle quota on the dc and can’t bare them from anyone else. Have to force myself not to pull away from DH.

Such a funny thread and good to know that I’m not alone in finding hand holding irritating, and cuddles in bed ok for about a minute then it’s ‘ you take your side, I’ll take mine’

Hate cuddles!

I love cuddles... for 5 minutes. Then I want to lie flat on my front and sleep with no one touching me. DH has finally accepted this after 6 years together.

I hate cuddles except from my toddler, I could cuddle him all day long, he's so squishy and gorgeous.

Everyone else including DH can piss off though!

When DH tries to spoon at night, the thoughts that go through my head are:

• my ear is squashed
• my arm is going dead
• you're breathing on my neck
• there's 'something' sticking in my back
• my leg is itchy
• my hair is trapped
• oh god, how are you asleep already?
• you're snoring on my neck
• my face is itchy
• my hand is trapped under the pillow
• your arm is too heavy around my waist
• I'm boiling alive
• oh god my whole side is going numb
• aaaaaaaahhhhh

And that's just the first 3 minutes . So I usually last until about 5 minutes and then do the old 'get off me' or the more polite 'hug and roll'

I don't like sofa cuddles but when we go to bed we sleep cuddled up together like puppies most of the night
So, nope. I like the sleepy never ending cuddles.

Ah, so it isn't just me. My DH thinks I am a weirdo but clearly I am not. My cuddle tolerance is fairly low and I absolutely cannot tolerate being breathed on. It turns me into a homicidal maniac.

I like a short hug sometimes... but not long cuddles in bed like some others it's because I get too hot and I hate being hot!

I'm reminded of the partner who would meet me at the door every evening with a long and incredibly wet kiss. My flat was at the top of a steep hill, up 3 flights of stairs, so I was usually pretty out of breath. A suffocating relationship in more ways than one...

I really enjoy a nice long hug if I've had a rough day or perhaps not seen my dh in a while. Long lingering hugs all the time are a little weird.

I can never sleep cuddled next to someone or laying on someone's chest like everyone seems to sleep in films. 5 mins max is the most I can handle and then I need my space desperately.

My dh knows I've got about a 3 minute cuddle tolerance. He deliberately clings on laughing like a demented pixie until I'm so hot, squashed and furious I yell at him. He thinks it's hilarious. Me? Not so much.

I hate cuddles. I could bear DH cuddling me for about 30 seconds or so, then I'd say "enough now". All my friends and colleagues are huggers and I've told them I dislike it, but they never remember. I don't even like DS cuddling me, even though I love him dearly.

My DH thinks I am weird because I hate holding hands and I don’t like cuddles. Apart from DC and DCat.

i feel loads better reading these replies. i thought i was weird for feeling it and was even questioning if it means my relationship is wrong. DP gets offended sometimes if i don't want cuddles, he feels rejected. i love cuddling him and DC though, but when i get too hot or hemmed in, i need to get out. otherwise i get extremely irritated and need my space

I love cuddling, my partner isn’t a huge fan so he sets a five minute alarm on his fitbit when we have a cuddle. If he is already hot he bans cuddling completely ☹️
