What does taking ecstasy feel like?

After reading a thread on here I realised I'm possibly in the minority. I never took it, would have been utterly petrified. Loads of my mates did it in their clubbing years... I was never pressured and I don't regret not doing it.

But I do wonder so for those of you who did, what did it feel like?

Love, not lose.

RogueV · 02/12/2019 19:06

Best feeling ever. Amazing sex on it too. Euphoria. Love. Grinning at everything. Music sounds amazing.

Come down = not so great.

AnnaFiveTowns · 02/12/2019 19:12

Oh God, reading through this thread is making me want some.

bluejelly · 02/12/2019 19:18

Like orgasming with your whole body.
It's very, very good.
Took loads in my teens and early 20s and don't regret at all.

"I've had all these feelings without ever taking dangerous saddo drugs.

Get outside. Find a fun sport (doesn't need to involve kicking balls or 'teams'). Find a partner that finds you attractive. Forget the ugly photoshopped pics on instagram, learn to love yourself. Dance to music that isn't doofy-doofy-doofy.

none of these things carry risk of death, nor do they support gang violence, cuckooing of the vulnerable, county lines or knife crime.

get a life."

I have never taken drugs and have zero interest in doing so but this post is cringe. What's it to you?

PinkBalloon123 · 02/12/2019 20:12

if you're nervous / panicky I wouldn't say any drug is for you OP

Oh no I'm not considering doing it, I'm 35 now so way past all that. I wouldn't have dropped a pill for a million quid I'd have given myself a heart attack, definitely not the type for that. I smoked a fuck load of weed in my early 20s but that was enough for me. The whole ecstacy thing I'll never know so was just asking about other people's experiences.

Also this thread is really not intended to inspire anyone to go out and buy class A drugs!

I loved the feeling of not knowing where my body ended and the music began.
Come downs were fine for me for some reason.

KenDodd · 02/12/2019 20:32

I loved it. Never felt bad the next day either. Alcohol on the other hand always made me feel like shit.

AllTheHippos · 02/12/2019 20:41

I would describe it as intense, powerful feelings of connection and joy. I was hugely into rave culture and the free party scene in my 20s. It was a time in our lives me and DH look back at really fondly.

I haven't popped a pill for about 10 years and wouldn't, now I have children/responsibilities.

But I love the idea of returning to it when I'm in my 80s!

OneFootintheRave · 02/12/2019 22:02

Well as my username suggests Grin, I have enjoyed E in the past. @FrankinsenseKnuckle I do remember the Doves and Mitsubishis well. What the hell are these "day raves?"

I used to love the underground parties in the tunnels underneath where the Shard in London is now. I never had a bad come down. I just used to dance all night and then go home and sleep. Happy days.

TheNameGames · 02/12/2019 22:20

Until this thread and reading peoples replies, I forgot about the tingling feeling of the skin where someones bare arm could brush against yours and every single hair on your body stood up and you felt electrified. My friends used to softly tickle my arms and it was just about the most loving and hysterical thing I have ever felt in my life Grin In between dancing we used to chill out on the stairs in clubs and have the best conversations with each other and other clubbers. I miss it Sad

I think you just have to pick your surroundings carefully if that's the case. I can tend to be quite paranoid but have never had problems with LSD or ecstasy (not that I've done them many times). Weed though...nope.

Dieu · 03/12/2019 01:13

Sounds awesome - wish I hadn't been such a square in my younger days! Grin

FrankinsenseKnuckle · 03/12/2019 09:39

@OneFootintheRave

Plenty of daytime events in London! Probably the biggest is Clockwork Orange - was a club night in the 90s at the cross and Camden palace, now in full on reunion mode. The friendliest bunch of ravers/party people. Just had a do at Fabric last week started at 2 in the afternoon, perfect for us oldies!

JorisBonson · 03/12/2019 10:35

God I miss pills.

squeekums · 03/12/2019 22:55

2 of my favorite "brands" of pills, loved them

Day raves where i am tend to be a rave that just carries on all day and all night for the weekend, one of my favorites was on a beach in south australia. Real different feeling during the day, great still but different.
