Thinking about getting one. DH unconvinced at the moment. Would you recommend if you have one?
Thanks!

No idea if they're any good but have you seen the video of the cat in a shark suit on the shark Hoover. If you like that sort of thing of course.Smile

JorisBonson · 01/12/2019 14:25

Love mine. Got new carpets in July and have 3 cats, it's left them looking good as new. Can do our 2 up 2 down with less than half the battery. Plus it's dead light.

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 14:27

😆I'll have to have a look at that!

Oo there's one reassuringly positive view for me to share with DH!

Type in cat in shark suits on roombaGrin

FlamingoAndJohn · 01/12/2019 14:32

I love mine. So much more convenient. Lighter to take up stairs. I have the duo so I have two batteries. I can generally do the whole house on one (three bed semi) but if I’m doing a ‘big clean’ I use two.

SoupDragon · 01/12/2019 14:36

I'm happy with mine too (also the duo with two batteries so I always have one fully charged)

Thing is, you'll get people along who aren't happy with theirs and will tell you to get a Dyson.

MrTumbleTumble · 01/12/2019 14:39

I hate mine! We bought the pet one and because the cylinder is at the top of the long narrow pole it's forever getting blocked. Which means the whole thing overheats and cuts out constantly. I vacuum most days so it's not the case that I'm letting fluff build up and trying to get rid of layers of dog hair in one go. Customer service were useless, just told us to keep unblocking it.

We bought it on Black Friday last year so it was cheaper than it would have otherwise been, but it was a total waste of £250.

Our G Tech Air Ram was better because it worked for longer in one go, but not as powerful. Think we'll be going for a Dyson next.

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 14:40

It's the fact that it's light and easy that's making me like the sound of it. Wondering how the suction is and if the smallish collection bit still collects a decent amount.

We don't have pets so I'm not too worried about that side of it but the long pole aspect being a negative is interesting. Thanks.

Haha x post with SoupDragon

Hattie78 · 01/12/2019 14:48

I love mine. I bought it to replace my old Dyson handheld and it's much better.

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 14:57

Which model is that? The duo too? Thanks!

Mine got blocked once (a miracle only once with 3 hairy beasts) and I just ran the tube under the tap for a bit and let is dry out

JorisBonson · 01/12/2019 15:08

OP the suction is ridiculous, once pulled the string clean off a cat toy

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 15:09

I'm so tempted!

I’ve recently got one. We only went for the one battery and it has quite a short life especially if you have it on the highest power. However it’s INCREDIBLE the amount of dust it sucked up on the first go when we had used our old hoover the day before 🙈 obviously not had it long but first impressions good. Very easy to do the stairs and car too with attachments.

calmpuppycrazykids · 01/12/2019 15:18

I hate mine it over heats and is always getting blocked so now i have a £300 ornament sitting in the hallway and ive gone back to using our hetty.
Wish i had bought the corded one that you can lift off
ive heard good things about that one

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 15:21

Well these last two are definitely mixed 🙈If it blocks all the time is that because of pets if you have them please? Or just general use without pets? Thanks!

I have the shark cordless stick and it's brilliant. Had a Miele before and what it got out of our carpets at the start was shocking! We have 2 dogs and it's brill for hair. It's light and easy to use.

SimonJT · 01/12/2019 15:28

I have one, I only have hard floors and one rug but it’s very good, it gets all the dust etc out of all the small cracks in the wood floor. I have a cat and I haven’t had any problems with blockages.

PrayingandHoping · 01/12/2019 15:28

Mine has never blocked 🤷‍♀️

TreesRUs · 01/12/2019 15:29

Which ones are people talking about here, the ones with the heaving power at the top or with th weight lower down?

SimonJT · 01/12/2019 15:33

Mine has the battery etc at the top.

SoupDragon · 01/12/2019 15:43

Mine has only been blocked recently because I used it recently to clear up bits of stripped wallpaper. Which were damp and sticky 😂

Howaboutthisone · 01/12/2019 15:49

Yes it's the battery up the top ones I'm talking about too.
