This thread is for Black Friday 2019. If you're on the hunt for the most recent Black Friday discounts, find our guide to this year's best Amazon Black Friday deals. Hope this helps, and happy shopping! MNHQ

Hello everyone,

Black Friday is the shopping event of the year, with huge sales from loads of brands giving savvy shoppers the chance to get their hands on some serious bargains in the run up to Christmas.

Quick reminder of how this works: we've selected these deals by scouring the web for bargains that we think MNers will love. We can’t guarantee that every single product has been at its 'pre-Black Friday price' for more than 30 days, but we only pull out offers that seem to us like genuinely good deals on products we know MNers rate.

We do get a small referral % if you happen to buy through these links and, if you post a fantastic offer but don't include a link, MNHQ may edit your post so that other users can easily find it.

I’m looking for a sewing machine; brother ls14 or one of the John Lewis won brands- does anyone know if they typically have much of a sale?

Ichangedmynameonce · 24/11/2019 08:51

Matching family christmas pyjamas, quite nice I think. I got three pairs for £17 by putting in the code

I'd love to get those pjs but i have an almost 12 year old boy and dont know what size to get! Kids end at 10-11. Small mens would be too big but small ladies would probably fit. But will they clearly be ladies?

Graphista · 24/11/2019 12:40

Yes think I'm all sorted but can't think what to do with Alexa, currently just using it as a speaker but know it can do much more but don't know what to use it for

perplexedagain · 24/11/2019 13:21

@ChangingMyNameFromMUUUUUMMMM.

Thanks for recommendation - there's a bit of £ off the galaxy tab. Think we will go for the cheapest 8" version as will probably need to upgrade in a few years

TheQueef · 24/11/2019 13:26

Ask it for a podcast Graph or a recipe.
We ask ours if people are dead, cricket scores and alarms mostly and kitchen timer Blush

TheQueef · 24/11/2019 13:27

Oh and instant pot deals please if anyone spots one
Tia.

RunningKatie · 24/11/2019 14:16

I think the Asda Switch deal is for the Switch Lite rather than a Switch. Not sure DS will be convinced but I have no idea about them.

girlsyearapart · 24/11/2019 19:35

Also after a PS4 with fifa20 and two controllers ..

Graphista · 24/11/2019 20:22

Podcasts are something I've been meaning to get into for ages and put posts on here about I'm always worried in case they're not free and haven't yet had a decent answer how to know it's defo free.

Also because it's the type of thing I'd like to listen to while falling asleep but then how to get back to the point I was consciously "up to"? Grin

DungballInADress · 24/11/2019 21:01

I'm looking for the Nike CR7 Dri-Fit Drill Hoody, should anyone come across anything. I had one on pre-order from Sports Direct for £38, they cancelled the order and now its £42-£48 everywhere.

Also any deals on Xbox games, Imaginext or vegan/cruelty free beauty would be ACE

Randomdogbite · 24/11/2019 22:32

Same as a couple of others PS4 and 2 controllers. From research unless you are downloading lots of games the the 500gb should be enough, so you might need to occasionally delete saved games etc

Ichangedmynameonce · 24/11/2019 22:55

@TheQueef instant pot uk website currently have them for 89.99, cheaper than Amazon black friday last year

Ichangedmynameonce · 24/11/2019 22:56

@IVEgotthetinselBITCHES I got my 12 year old boy mens size small , fingers crossed

PurpleGoose · 24/11/2019 22:57

@graphista. We use ours to set reminders for things (defrosting stuff, getting bread out of the bread maker, taking stuff out of the house with us, putting a wash on). The reminder comes up on our phone so doesn't matter if we're out of the room when it announces the reminder.

Also use it for our shopping list 'Alexa add ... to shopping list' You can also add things manually via the app when out and about.

You can listen to the radio as well as music.

You can also send messages from or to someone's phone and make phone calls via the internet.

If you have more than one you can use it as an intercom, or make announcements.

We also have our lights and heating linked to it but you need specific systems to be able to do this.

Echobelly · 24/11/2019 22:57

I know Black Friday is evil, but I genuinely need a new laptop so will be looking for one, altough DH says he's heard it's not necessarily the best deals for laptops.

Basically, DD has started secondary and is using my rather slow and annoying laptop all the time for homework, DH has just started a new contract and I've inherited some money so I can actually buy myself a decent laptop now.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 24/11/2019 22:59

Any chance that fifa 20 for Xbox might be discounted?

poorlymatchedsocks · 24/11/2019 23:01

@DonPablo Argos have really good deals on grooming products for Black Friday. Bought my dh beard and hair trimmer for £20

Xyzzzzz · 24/11/2019 23:05

Any good pushchair deals? Looking for something lightweight that can be used abroad?

WordInYourShellLike · 24/11/2019 23:07

Does anyone know if Railcard are doing a Black Friday deal on a Friends & Family Railcards like they did last year? That would be so useful but I'm not sure they'll do it again...

Also looking for some sturdy bluetooth over-ear headphones for no more than £30 if anyone comes across any good deals.

Oh and an 1TB external hard drive! (Demanding tech savvy children these days, I don't know!)

Not buying from Amazon but any tips gratefully received [santa]

TaighNamGastaOrt · 24/11/2019 23:23
