which of these coats for 12 year old girl?

Long story but I have to buy a coat for a 12 year old girl who doesn't have one. I have only boys and don't know any girls this age. if you have a daughter would she be into either of these coats, or is there a specific style/ . brand that would be popular with her? Thanks for the advice

Both are nice, but I would be tempted to go for the first one if you are wanting to buy something more practical.

Every girl Around here wears a puffer jacket; my DD wouldn’t go for a furry hood but I see other girls wearing them

My DD wouldn't wear either, fur one too mumsy, red one stands out to much would be called little red riding hood. I will find a link but might be area specific, I'd look at what the local girls are wearing (although most seem to not wear one at all)

Out of the 2 Dd12 says she would choose the puffer one as lots of girls at school have something similar and no one has the pea coat type. Otherwise Superdry are very popular with that age group around here.

If she doesn't have a winter coat I'd go for the first one. Parka style will be much more useful in wet/snowy weather. The wool one will be a nightmare to dry off if it's her only coat.

sounds like pretty unanimous for the first one! maybe i . should do a version . without the furry hood?

(not sure what other girls in her area are wearing and hard to find out for various complicated reasons.)

I love the Peacoat. Which means automatically that the hooded puffa is the one she'd actually be prepared to wear.

The navy blue coat and the fur hood everyone is wearing them around here.

Definitely the first one. Not sure what the objection to the fur is, but quite often the fur is removable.

First one - very similar to the coats the girls round here are wearing including my own. Furry hoods are fine.

I'd say first one is safer. My dd (11) would prefer pea coat, but not the bright red. She has a nice one in camel. She also has a pale pink furry jacket. Is a voucher an option?

Definitely the first one. I also notice that the fur collar is detachable. Win win.

The peacoat is not cool, forget it.

The second one - if it is also designed for school you may need to read the uniform rules. Some have quite strict requirements. Also, if she wears a blazer it needs to fit underneath and I found belted coats are quite narrow.

DD wears mainly tresspass coats, one reason is that they are more waterproof than your average puff-style coat. She also has a coat matching the school's rule which are very different and it means they don't fit any outdoor activity so pointless for being outside, or in her case, being on trips with the scouts.

I'd get the long one of its a coat you're looking for - short if your want a jacket.

My just turned 13 year old has this in the yellow and my 15 year old has it in black, she's had hers since last winter and it's still going strong.
