Is there already a thread about the instamum dramas involving MoD today?

I don't know why MN are deleting references to certain posters but please feel free to delete my posts if I have said something I shouldn't.

morningdread · 08/11/2019 11:57

I think they won't be able to give up the lifestyle. I think FOD has a good job? but not one that pays 4 x school fees, high end renovations, holidays etc.

QueSera · 08/11/2019 12:00

This instamum/tattle thing is a whole new world that I never even knew existed.
The things I learn on Mumsnet!

I was thinking that yesterday, he clearly has a good job but his salary and a midwifes wage is unlikely to be able to pay for a family of 6 to go to the Maldives (for example!). Unless he's got a VERY good job!

Manicpixiedreambitch · 08/11/2019 12:04

I suppose luckily for them the renovations are complete. But paying for the school fees...

HebeMumsnet · 08/11/2019 12:05

Morning, everyone. Just a reminder that, while we know this is a big story in the insta world and people will want to discuss it, we will have to delete personal attacks. We'd also ask everyone not to speculate about Mumsnetters MOD 'might have been'. It's not fair on all the perfectly genuine posters being named here and is essentially troll hunting.

sniffingthewax · 08/11/2019 12:08

The insta revenue has catapulted them into a totally new lifestyle; yes FOD has a good job, but not one that could afford private education x4 or £4k sinks in a child's bedroom. In saying that though they have already made the most of it wrt the house, the older two are in a (state) grammar and I'm sure the £260k in their social media account will fund the twins through private prep until they go to the grammar too. Not bad , even if it all falls apart (which I'm sure it won't)

OopsUditAgain · 08/11/2019 12:11

Fair enough, thank you Hebe.

Jackiebrambles · 08/11/2019 12:12

I'm sure it won't fall apart either. I sniff a book deal on her/their experiences, lifting the lid on the lifestyle, it's impacts, the behaviour of the brands and it's impact on their mental health/family life 'My life as an influencer' etc. I'm suspicious about all of this really, it feels like people are being played.

morningdread · 08/11/2019 12:19

Oh, I thought the oldest went to private but I didn't follow so don't know tbh. They have a nest egg, so they should just walk away.

myolivetree · 08/11/2019 12:25

Impressed with Susie Verril's comments today.

ChocolateTea · 08/11/2019 12:30

I didn't think the second eldest was in secondary yet, I thought she was year 6?

And I'm sure it was mentioned before they were all in private incl. The eldest because of the school holidays etc

myolivetree · 08/11/2019 12:34

Can't really get my head why MoD would do it anyway.

She's got 4 kids 2 jobs . Loads of stuff to do /go to. Holidays galore.

Surely she's just quite busy to sit brooding on a gossip site.

But why want to? She's Uber successful in Instagram terms. So why?

morningdread · 08/11/2019 12:37

But why want to? She's Uber successful in Instagram terms. So why?

I would say because she's unhappy & some of the criticisms are valid?

morningdread · 08/11/2019 12:38

Or maybe it was to protect the brand & keep the £££ rolling in 🤷‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 08/11/2019 12:41

It’s probably just an outlet to say what you absolutely cannot on IG. I don’t know lots of people are busy and post stuff on websites (cough) mn included. Also don’t know the CC story but can see from below some unsavoury stuff. Not sure who started it though, probably what motivated the first posts.

OopsUditAgain · 08/11/2019 12:41

This is the one area that she really is relatable. She was a user of MN before she became insta famous. She lives her life online, of course she likes forums. Same as she probably falls down scroll holes on Instagram as we do. She uses twitter and Facebook. She’s just the same as a lot of us.

myolivetree · 08/11/2019 12:50

Getting the feeling she's tied up in knots inside.

One face to the world and doing well. "Woman supporting woman" etc Big smiles and hugs.

And then seething inside. "God they're getting on my tits".

Silvercatowner · 08/11/2019 13:27

You're far more superior than us.

Yeah......

Good grief. Bloody good job we're going to be extinct in the next few hundred years with this crap going on.

happilybemused · 08/11/2019 13:39

I've got to say I think MODs posts criticising her fellow insta mums were probably nearer to the truth than all the OTT niceness and support.

I've always felt slightly cynical when they rave about being 'so proud of X for her collaboration with M&S ' or suchlike.

I've always supposed they were secretly fuming that they hadn't been chosen instead and deep down felt they would have been the better person to work with.

I'm probably just cynical and jaded though

BobbyNewport · 08/11/2019 13:42

Yeah......

Good grief. Bloody good job we're going to be extinct in the next few hundred years with this crap going on

IKR?! People who are interested in this are almost as irritating as the people who apparently don't give a shit but still feel the need to open a thread, read it and then go to the trouble of posting on it to let us all know how beneath them we are!!

🙄

sniffingthewax · 08/11/2019 13:42

Re the private schooling, I'm sure I read that they were doing 11+ and going to a state grammar. This may of course be nonsense and they are staying in private schools for secondary too.

sauvignonblancplz · 08/11/2019 13:44

I’m agog that someone who had used IG and made a real loving out of it would be so careless.
I find the idea of influencing fashion etc under the guise of lifestyle so very dangerous, as we’re all looking to make our lives better no matter what. It is a predatory way to get us to hand over our money & I definitely buy into it unfortunately.

However the racist comments that have been made NEED to be addressed properly. Not this cloak and dagger nonsense the SJV etc are doing.
This is whit privilege racism!!! Come on privileged white insta mums show you’ve got some integrity and stand up for Candice .
Standing in silence while others are being abused makes you a co-abuser. A real light should be shone on this.

sauvignonblancplz · 08/11/2019 13:45

Ha Bobby that’s two seconds of precious time they need not have wasted ;
