Impact of being vegan from birth

I could be wrong but it seems to me that there haven’t been any studies on the impact of being vegan all your life, from birth. I have been doing a bit of research into this lately (just internet research!) as my dd decided to stop eating meat (although she is not vegan) and I think part of her reason (as a young teen) was the fact that quite a few of her friends have become vegan.

It seems to me that you have to be incredibly disciplined to make sure you get all the right nutrients...

According to this link, what's important about the 'Blue Zones' diet style isn't lack of animal products but rather the addition of beans to the daily diet.

As well as having very purposeful lives.

I'm vegan and in this day and age it is pretty easy to eat a balanced vegan diet. In terms of the couple who were charged with child abuse, it wasn't down to a vegan diet per se but more of the fact they were following an extreme diet which wasn't suitable. Extreme diets in any sense will lead to health issues eventually. Same goes with these so called influencers who were once vegan and now not because of health reasons. The main problem was they were following extreme diets. For the best advice I would look at the vegan society's website and look at their advice with regards to children and vegan diets.

Obviously it's possible for a child to have a healthy, vegan diet.

But it's a lot more difficult.

I don't understand why you would do anything, which makes childhood nutrition more difficult.

Just seems wrong.

There's a brilliant vegan YouTuber, Unnatural Vegan who regularly talks about balanced vegan diets vs. the extremely restricted diets that cause malnourishment. Her videos are very objective and science-based.

Here's a great example of her calling out why some vegan kids can end up malnourished:

And this one talks about a couple who are planning to bring up their child on a fruit-only diet:
